Nice park. Paved walkways make it perfect for running, especially if it's rained and your other favorite trails are too muddy.Depending on your route there are lots of hills, I find that a plus because I need the challenge. You will get lots of sunshine because most pathways aren't shaded. Great spot for dogs too!

A large, beautiful and well-maintained park. It's a paradise for dogs and their owners. You can walk with and without a leash. There's plenty of parking. There are even tennis courts. Kid-friendliness Good for family

★★☆☆☆ Popularity ★★☆☆☆ Size/Location ★★★★☆ Terrain ★★★★☆ Scenery ★★★★☆ Accessibility ★★☆☆☆ Amenities ★★★★☆ Condition ★★★★☆ Safety Date visited: 09/15/2023 This park boasts an expansive parking lot that immediately catches the eye, but what struck me the most was the relative scarcity of visitors on the day of my visit. It felt like stumbling upon a hidden treasure, a secluded haven waiting to be explored. The park's prominent feature was a paved trail winding through the park, revealing signs of wear and disrepair in some sections. Despite this, the trail offered a fair amount of elevation change, branching off into different directions. While the path rarely offered the comfort of shade, it did provide hikers with an engaging hike that typically takes about 30 minutes to complete. The landscape was predominantly characterized by vast grasslands, occasionally punctuated by patches of wood that added a touch of wilderness to the scenery. What truly set this park apart was the breathtaking vista it offered - a panoramic view of distant hills and mountains, a sight that evoked a sense of adventure and wanderlust. On the day of my visit, a gentle fall breeze rustled through the grass, creating a delightful contrast with the bright sun overhead. The freshly cut grass bore witness to the care that the park's groundskeepers put into maintaining the area. However, the recent presence of strong winds had left its mark, uprooting a tree and serving as a reminder of nature's power. One intriguing but slightly eerie feature was the presence of an old, seemingly abandoned building. It piqued my curiosity, tempting me to explore its mysteries further. Yet, a sense of caution prevailed, and I wisely decided to forgo the temptation. Overall, my experience at this park was genuinely pleasant, with its combination of picturesque views and an engaging trail. I would readily recommend it to anyone who enjoys a leisurely walk amidst natural beauty and the allure of distant horizons. 0:09 +7 Like Share Response from the owner 2 years ago Thank you for your feedback, Thang! One of my favorite parks in town. It's quiet and there are no bikes or motorized vehicles at all. You don't have to worry about being run over so you can enjoy a nice quiet walk. There are a number of dogs off leash. They're usually very friendly and the owner are typically respectful of those who don't have dogs with them. This is not a public park, but owned by Amberley village. You may want to consider getting a car sticker if you are planning to park in the dedicated lot. Nice tennis courts.

It's incredibly disappointing that they have changed the rules for the dogs. All the great reviews for Amberley Green are from dog owners, so now that it's changed, a lot of people will be upset. Also, from dawn to 9AM and dusk are horrible times especially in winter hours. That leaves almost no sunlight in the mornings for owners, plus having to deal with slippery grass and mosquitos (both unsafe for dogs) is a huge turn off. Also for owners who feel unsafe at darker hours, it completely deters them from even wanting to go anymore. Yes it's a safe enough area, but those are insane hours. I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of people stop recommending this place or showing up together. It's clear that the people who created the rules and voted aren't dog owners, because they could've made the rules a lot easier for all parties involved, such as "If you see someone approaching you on a trail, you must leash your dog or hold it off to the side until the person is out of site," or having a policy where people can get an off leash pass by passing an obedience test. There's so many better options that could've been available without basically making this park the opposite of dog friendly. There's literally 133 acres and barely any foot traffic compared to other parks. I think a few well behaved dogs with more reasonable rules wouldn't be that big of a compromise. I'm incredibly disappointed by the community who put these rules in place.

The Amberley Green is the former Cresthills Country Club. The property is now owned by the Village and is open for public use. Lots of great walking trails (old cart paths) in a very wild feeling location. Be aware many visitors bring their dogs. As a fellow dog owner this does not bother me, but I know that some people may not want to see so many dogs out (leashed and unleashed). Small garden plots are available for residents. The tennis courts have been maintained and are open for public use as well.

We walk our Labrador almost every day. It’s a great venue and very dog friendly. The leash policy is based on common sense and the reasonable man concept. I rarely have my dog on leash. Martha stays by my side, when she’s not chasing a ball. Most dog walkers respect the other walkers and when necessary, they use the leash. Plenty of space for everyone to enjoy AG.

Hidden gem! There is an unbelievable amount of beautiful acres and views here. Pack a picnic as this is a great place for one with lots of shade trees. The old golf course paths provide some good trails. There is an old abandoned building too. If you hop off the trails to the west side you can see what looks like an old Frank Lloyd Wright home at the edge of the woods. There also appears to be a community garden. Rolling hills make this quite scenic. I think some of the paths may be wheelchair accessible as they are paved but it is steep. So maybe not the best outdoor place for wheelchairs. Must see place for urban hikes!

Surprisingly awesome park. It's bigger than you think it's gonna be with lots of nice hills that are good for a challenging run or to tire out your high energy dog. Lots of open fields for dogs who love to fetch. It's a great sledding spot in times of snow. My wife and I come here often with our dog and we love it.

Walk as much as you want. Dogs are off leash but please keep your dog on leash if yours attack others.

Beautiful park ruined by off leash dogs - leash rules are not enforced and dog owners are nasty if you ask them to follow them. There is almost nowhere park-like left where I can walk my leashed, but small, dogs, without entitled off leash-ers ruining the experience

This place is so amazing! -Absolutely beautiful landscape -Long walking paths great for exercise -A community garden area -Lots of climbable trees and great hammock spots -Dog friendly for both on and off leash times with your pup I mean, as far as stepping away from it all and enjoying nature, this place has it all. Just make sure to bring water for you and your pup! We've definitely made the mistake of forgetting and regretted it! Dog-friendliness They have on leash and off leash areas! Definitely bring your pup! 1 Share Response from the owner 3 years ago Thank you for your review of Amberley Green, and we're glad you're enjoying our beautiful property!

This place used to be awesome because you could take your dogs there without needing a leash and let them run around and get there energy out. Its a massive park where you can go on a good walk and still not see everything there is. Its been like this for years and I just went today and was met by a big sign saying LEASHES AND RULES. Which ruins the whole experience and makes me not want to come back.

This WAS a great park to take your dog. Unfortunately, they changed the rules and now it's almost impossible to enjoy off-leash time because of the stupid new rules! Super early or super late only? Really. I'm not hiking a mile in when it's nearly dark! Sad and disappointed Amberly. Not recommended now!

Beautiful green space with lots of old trees. Unfortunately lots of owners do not follow the leash rule and put many people and animals at risk. Most of these people are not considerate of other walkers and I have personally seen dogs almost get hit by cars, dogs jumping on cars and random dogs approaching with no owners in sight.

I wonderful park. I go often. Dogs run off leash if well behaved and there are no bikes cars or skate boarders which makes things nice for just walkers and joggers. Lovely place for a picnic
