Avondale Promenade Park

You might be willing to use the dog run if it’s not full of vagrants camping out, defacating, littering and destroying it. This park is nice one day a week- when the city comes to maintain the grass and clean up.

Awesome little community park! Space is kept clean and well maintained. Includes a dog area w/ turf as well as play area for kids. Plenty of benches to take a seat.

Park is kept really clean.

Avondale is a beautiful little community park that was obviously designed and constructed with love and respect. However, on the day (today) that I visited with my dog, the dog area was showing signs of serious neglect. The bag dispenser was empty, the gate was broken and the astroturf inside the dog area was soiled with repeated doggy-poo that had not been cleaned up. Assorted trash littered the area as well. The park area outside the dog enclosure was not nearly as bad but it's clear that nobody is caring for this park regularly. Too bad though. It's a lovely area of Houston and deserves much better.
