Behnke Memorial Dog Park

Love this place! We don't have a fenced in backyard, or multiple dogs. So we try and bring our pup to this dog park every weekend. He always has an amazing time. All of the people and their pets are super friendly! ❤

Haven't had a bad experience yet. The people and dogs have all been nice. If you have small dogs/small puppies that are not used to, or are scared of, larger dogs, beware that there is no separate space for them. If that applies to you, you may want to visit during a non-busy time to ensure the best experience for your fur-baby.

Great place for the dogs to run, play and socialize. Not a Boushey place. Very down to earth people. They have access to fresh water, dogs toys all around and free poop bags for messes. The people are also very friendly. On top of all that its FREE!!! No charge like other places. Highly recommend to all everyone but Karens and Kevins. No rude, stuck-up people allowed. ;)

All dogs welcomed. Pits are now welcomed. People pick up after their dogs well; lots of benches, picnic tables and a shelter hut for inclement weather. Water spigot during the warm season. Outhouse-only, a 5 minute (round trip)walk. Michigan's oldest public park, and my favorite. ?? Nicest, happy people! For a city park, good sunrises/sunsets.

A fun place to take your dog for some play time. Everyone is really friendly and most of the dogs are really nice as well. There were a few dogs that kept pestering my dog so we ended up leaving a couple times but this is one of our favorite spots. Close to our home and our dog loves it! They also have a water spigot there So you never have to bring water.

Our dog loved this park so much so that he didn’t want to leave. There is plenty of room to run and play places to sit for the two legged creatures even a place to come in out of the cold, love this park.

Nice dog park, it's usually really clean and people look after their pets.

You get what you give here. Be respectful of the other dogs, humans and the land, you'll be ok. If your dog is mean, do NOT bring it to a dog park please. Don't forget to pick up after your pooch!

Took our mini Aussie the other day and he loved it! Tons of shade, benches and water bowls. There were also really cute tires and things for the dogs to play with but my dog just wants to run. Will definitely come back!

1. No rules 2. No cameras 3. No water in the winter. 4. No shots They removed the cameras last year because it’s easier that way on the city. Do yourself a solid avoid at all cost or pay the vet bills as they just take off an leave an nobody but you is left holding the bag! Sadly most visitors to the park our good but the off chance bad encounters leave your dog open for a very bad time an the city has no real way to enforce the rules an those with aggressive breeds know this an when you call the cops they will do nothing at all. Very Dangerous don’t risk your dogs life I was told two dogs have been killed this year alone.

I've taken my dog here a few times, usually first thing in the morning. It's a great little place! My dog has a lot of fun and I love that there's a lot of shade. They also have waste bags in case you forget to bring your own! The water hose is nice too, as it gives easy access to fresh water. Overall a great place, especially for free!

My dog loves going here. The dogs are always a blast and she has so much fun. They have tons of water dishes that you can fill to give your dog fresh water. They have a water hose for that. They have bags for you to pick up after your dog, too. I rarely see poop that is left there, most people are quick to clean up after their dogs. There is a lot of shade, too. The best time is to go in the evening, when they are most busy!

Dogs are friendly and it's a lot of space. The only thing I didn't love is that the majority of the park is sand, so expect your dog to come home extra dirty!

Great place to let your dog off its leash and run around for a bit. The park is kept pretty clean and it's open 24 hours. The regulars at the park care a lot about it, and the dogs that visit. They are very friendly and welcoming. My only tiny complaint is that there are no restrooms for people.

Love this park . Aside from the crazy lady in the white van with solar panels on top who yells at her poor dog like he's always the cause of her mistakes.. it's really kinda sad to see and hear 😞 …

Met some nice people with their dogs there. BUT right now a bit wet and muddy because of the snow melting. Dog-friendliness Very dog-friendly park and there ARE poop bags accessible.

There are generally 5 to 10 dogs every time I go. The owners and the dogs are great. It can get a bit muddy if it's damp. I've only visited on nice winter days so far. Plenty of room for the dogs to run and dog poop stations aground.
