Bellevue Airfield Park

I moved here a year ago and don't know what it looked like a couple years ago when people wrote most of these reviews but I lovingly refer to it as "Bellevue's saddest park." It's overgrown dead grass and weeds, the basketball court looks like nobody has played on it in years. There are a couple sad plastic chairs and a picnic table. I saw a community flyer that they're going to revitalize it soon. The green space just north of this map marker is ok and every other park within walking distance is amazing so I'm sure it'll be better once that's done, but this is NOT the spot to go for a relaxing walk circa 2002. It's just an abandoned lot atm.

Off-leash dogs not allowed, but frequently present.

The paved area is not a basketball court. Its a historical remnant from the old airport. At one time it was painted with some navigation markings.

Great place to walk the dog.. Lots of room for him to run and explore.

Save the Meadow, Do not let Bellevue bulldoze open green spaces for something that could easily be put in the completely open buildings right next door. I see complaints that this is just an open field with tall grass and trees. Yes, green spaces do not always need to be soccer fields or rec areas. Wildlife needs open meadows and parks to thrive. Tons of birds and local animals need spaces that humans have not invaded. Keep this wild land wild. Dog-friendliness On leash dog area!! Walk your dogs and leash them up, many other off leash areas but this not one. Great spot for dogs to hang out and play but respect that this is not an off leash area. Picnic area Small area with some chairs, not much but can walk around trails or set up a blanket to have a nice snack on the boarders of the meadow.

This park is a nice neighborhood park, but it IS NOT AN OFF-LEASH PARK! if you use it as a place to run your dog off leash, be respectful of other's rights and do not let your pet harass others with children who are afraid of dogs or dogs who are on-leash as the park rules require. Some folks with off-leash dogs are rude, entitled and aggressive when asked to put their dogs on-leash. This is really bad behavior ... if you want a great off-leash park, go to Marymoor Off-leash Dog Park!

I want to point out that two reasons why this park is loved; lots of wildlife, great off-leash area for dogs - those two uses are incompatible.

Save this meadow. A lovely spot to walk, jog, and get some nature. Open space saves animals, cleans our air and provides mental benefits to all.

Good place for a quick walk on your lunch break! I like walking down by the pond to see if I can find any critters (I've seen rabbits and frogs so far!).
