Great park for relaxation and strolling

Park is decent at first glance nice overview and relatively litter minimal, but is compromised by: Limited walk flow aside from the loop that rounds about two-thirds of the park which is littered with swan guano and dog droppings, dusty gravel which tracks poorly on any rubber sole shoe, and poor drainage in the open fields. The park could be enhanced, if the right contractor wins a bid, or some private investor purchases the entire area with: 1. Single use, water shoe pans for patrons to wipe off the dust from the gravel track 2. A designated dog park to centralize their activities and droppings 3. Sweeper sprayers to keep the existing and revised (i.e., rubber) walk paths clean 4. Adding more old growth trees and land contouring to improve drainage 5. Perhaps adding some features that tailor to teen/adults such as a band shell, rope bridges between old growth trees, trees houses, drone fly zone, extend the water sections and have motor/mini sailboat races/challenges... There is so much potential in this park, but I am guessing, if you are a resident and have ideas you have to submit those ideas through some obscure channel, which will not likely be read, and if your idea is somehow able to get to the right party (assuming they like it), they will sneakily incorporate it into existing land development plans, which you will never get credit for unless you are a city planner, urban developer, city engineer or major donor.

Right next to the mall, this park sits in the heart of Bellevue. There is a loop around the park ( it's gravel, which means a lot of dust, wish it was paved). There is a large pool area that people float their radio-controlled boats. It's a great place for movies in the park & there is always something going on. They have a children's area with playsets, with rubber footing so kids stay safe. Restooms are clean & nearby. Nearby is also Molly Moons for the kiddos & adults. Parking is pretty hard to find but be patient, there are 3 lots that you can choose from. Midas 5-stars for there cleaniness & activities.

Nice park. Great for a stroll in the early morning. No bums so the kids can roam wild. Playground is nice and well kept.

I found some shocking artwork last month while visiting the park for the wonderful "Taste of India" celebration. On the middle of the south edge of the park was a new piece of artwork. It was a merrygo-round type piece of military drone aircraft. The plaque next to it stated it brought feelings of "safety, security....etc." I had to explain to my small children these were weapons of war in their park and we quickly moved on. Lt. Colonel John Paul Vann, the most highly respected (by both sides) officer in Vietnam once stated, " This is a political war and it calls for discrimination in killing. The best weapon for killing would be a knife, but I'm afraid we can't do it that way. The worst is an airplane." Well with the development of drones Lt. Colonel Vann must be spinning at very high RPM in his grave as drones are far worse than airplanes. We have turned war into a video game and now the city park in Bellevue wants to celebrate this event. I'm not sure how much money the city got for putting this blight in the park just east of the children's playground but I for one would like to see it removed immediately.
