If you don’t get here early make sure to bring something that gives you shade. It’s also very rocky, so wet shoes would probably be a great idea. There’s grills and bathrooms plenty of parking. You also need cash to pay. Dog-friendliness It is dog friendly Picnic area They have shade

A nice place to spend a fun time located on Lake Travis in Austin. The entrance fee is $5 per person. There is parking, public restrooms, and drinking water is available. There is no cafeteria or food store on site.

Obviously water is low because of the drought. The beaches are rocks so wear good shoes and you'll walk a ways (see picture of pre drought boat ramp that's now a walkway). 🥩🍗BBQ pits with picnic tables and canopies that seem 1st come first serve, and they're nowhere near the water due to, you guessed it, the drought. 🌿 The algae is bad in summer, I won't let my dog swim here when it's an optimum algae climate. 💰 Daily $5 per person (ridiculous! And should be per car), and $80 annual pass that gets you into some other parks too. Restrooms Outhouses Dog-friendliness Yes Picnic area Yes see review

Pet friendly, $5 pet person. They only accept cash!!! They start asking people to leave right around 7:30pm just around sunset. They have plenty of parking and covered picnic areas with charcoal grills. There are also bathrooms with a water fountain in the area. Restrooms Small. Bathrooms were very clean. Strangely no doors on the stalls in men's restroom. Dog-friendliness Yes! Our furr baby's and fuzzy friends are welcome! MUST STAY ON LEASH. Picnic area Multiple spacious picnic bench areas that are covered, shaded, and each area has its own charcoal grill to cook on. 0:18

This park has several beaches, so it’s important to read the signs and information boards carefully when entering a beach. The first beach we arrived at turned out to be a nudist beach, which was very unexpected for us, so we immediately left to find another one. The entrance fee is $8, payable in cash. Overall, this park is very beautiful, and the water is crystal clear—my friends went swimming. There were no parking issues either. I definitely want to come back here again! 0:14

July 2023, you probably already heard that the water level is really low. The entire boat ramp is exposed, along with an additional 5 to 10 minutes of walking if you want to go far out onto the Peninsula (which is usually deep underwater). Honestly this time of year it is not very refreshing, it’s over 100° outside and the water temperature is close to 90°, so it does not cool you off. So one star for the hot temperatures, but five stars for the park itself. The staff is always friendly and helpful, the grounds are expansive and clean. The only downside is on the waters edge people leave so much trash, cans, food, wrappers, even pool floats and tents are left behind. People are pigs. Please clean up after yourself!

Bob Wentz Park in Austin is a charming and peaceful neighborhood gem that offers a perfect mix of natural beauty, recreation, and family-friendly amenities. Tucked away from the city’s hustle and bustle yet easily accessible, the park is a quiet retreat highlighted by a scenic walking trail alongside Waller Creek. Families will appreciate the playground, spacious picnic areas, and open lawn—ideal for frisbee, reading, or simply soaking up the sunshine. Dog owners and joggers frequently visit; the paved paths accommodate both leisurely strolls and active workouts. The park feels well-maintained, with clean public restrooms and tidy landscaping. Benches and shady spots under mature trees add to the appeal, offering tranquil places to pause and enjoy the surroundings. While modest in size, Bob Wentz Park’s community atmosphere and serene creekside setting make it a delightful spot to unwind or connect with neighbors. It’s a hidden treasure in Austin’s parks system—a small, welcoming space that leaves a big, positive impression. Restrooms They’re here, moderately clean Dog-friendliness Dogs welcome Picnic area Picnic grills available 0:05
