This review is for the small dog side.We were staying at a local hotel while on vacation.my dogs needed a place to stretch their legs. This turned out to be a pleasant surprise considering the reviews. When we arrived a elderly man was picking up poop. He seemed a little mad that he had to pickup after others. I don't blame him. There were plenty of doggie poop bags available. Also there were plenty of chairs and some shade.p.s only a porta potty for a restroom

We were looking for a spot to take our big dog while we traveled. This was the spot! Good parking, medium sized fenced areas, different areas for small and large dogs, water available, people and dogs were friendly.

Great little place. My dog is a fearful dog (non-socialize) and could turn aggressive, but the mommies and daddies there are so supportive and help him get through the fear the first time we visited. 0:17 0:06

It was quite clean albeit quite small. The elders in the park didn't scowl at me or give me any grief so that was nice. The bench that is shaped as a bone is quite exciting. Quite nice! Playground No playground. Restrooms Porta potties aka PortaJohns aka Stank Houses Dog-friendliness Being them all! Mostly smaller breeds here! Picnic area Quite. 0:29

Updated 01/12/25 Small dog side: I value my dogs’ health & my own health too much to come here anymore. My dogs were met with hostility at the front door by seven dogs. Of which, no one called their dog back. I followed my dogs so that they could poop. And, nearly stepped in 15 (oh man! I did step in) & I’m not exaggerating abandoned poops. Meanwhile, 9 people sit on the patio ignoring their dogs. I used to pick up the poop; up to 30 poops every short visit. I won’t anymore. Because, it is so disgusting. I don’t know about the health of the dogs that are leaving the poop behind as I’ve seen worms and questionable items in the poop. The grass is always soggy & muddy & flea-ridden. After 9.5 years, I’m extremely disappointed in he downfall of the closest dog park to my home. ——— Wear disposable shoe booties or you will take home someone else’s poop. I’ve been coming to Capehart Dog park for 9 years. It’s convenient to where I live BUT is NOT my 1st choice. Regarding the Small dog side: Pros: fully fenced with functioning fountain and constant supply of poop bags Cons: you don’t have full visibility of dogs at the end when you sit near the table. Years ago, chairs were no longer allowed on the grass. So people, ESPECIALLY THE ELDER CROWD, do not follow their dogs to the grass to pick it up. The younger crowd 18-50 & their dogs are generally great. The elder crowd & their elder dogs tend to have an unprovoked bad attitude. Tip: avoid the small dog park 4-5pm.

Great if you're a dog. I have a really big pitbull and I wouldn't want to put him in with the other dogs

Large dog side has a giant hole in the ground. It's mostly covered up with a pallet and a traffic cone but still a leg breaking hazard

Pretty well-maintained, no escape spots to my knowledge and a great place to meet other dog owners in the community. I really like the little area to take the dogs off leash before entering, as well as the water fountain. Just be careful if your dog has a weakened immune system, they should stay home from any dog park including this one 😉🐾 other than that, it is a little small and I wish there was some actual grass, but overall great little spot!

The large dog area is all dirt. But there are 2 stone picnic table and benches with umbrellas that provide decent shade. Compared to the small dog park it seems to get a lot less visitors. But it is spacious enough for them to get a good run in and play fetch. I am a pet sitter and take my doggies there occasionally.

Great small dog park with plenty of seating, community tennis balls, and water bowls. People are friendly and respectful. It would be nice if some folks cleaned up a bit more after their fur kids, but besides that it’s a great park.
