Chalco Hills Dog Exercise Area

Great place for my Golden Retrievers to run and explore! Not totally fenced in, but plenty of room to have fun.

You won't find a better dog park in the area for your dog to run free. -1 star just for not being fully fenced.

It is nice here! There isn’t a fence area as far as I noticed for dogs..There are poop bags. Beautiful nature all around and nice place to go for a walk/jog.

The dog park area is pretty huge and the trails are well groom to walk on. Main complaints are pet owners need to pick up after their pets dropping.

The dog area was fine, nothing special. It’s a open space with some trails for dogs to get some exercise. There were rules posted everywhere saying dogs must be leashed yet at least ten people showed up with loose dogs, so I ended up leaving and walking my dogs in other areas of the park.

It's listed as an off leash area but it's still completely undeveloped and the fence has giant gaps right next to the busy street (Giles). It had rained so it was very muddy no water bags available, no water except what looked like jugs left by visitors. It could be really nice eventually but right now this is not a park for dogs to be off leash.

This area is not fenced in. If you have any fear that your dog might run off if not on leash, this place is not for you. It is right next to Giles. Other than that it is a nice trail and in my experience most people who bring their dogs here have well behaved/trained dogs.

My dogs LOVE this dog park! It's definitely for people who have better control over their dogs, though, as it is not completely fenced in. We go almost every Saturday!

We love going here! The trees and tall grass give my dogs lots of places to explore, us even when the park is busy, it doesnt seem like it. It's also well maintained with wide mowed paths, plus a few small game trails through the trees. The only downsides I could see are that it doesn't have a latched gate so if your dog was a runner they might end up in the parking lot or at the road, and there is a trail that borders the off leash area that has cyclists on it. One photo is from April and one is from May.

The dog park area seems popular but all of the people and dogs that I met were very polite and kind and friendly and some strangers helped my friend when her car got stuck in the mud. There are trash cans, which is nice, but that doesn't mean that everyone will pick up their dog's poop. Probably most importantly, There is some fencing but the area is not fully fenced so that's something to be aware of if your dogs are not off leash or trained to come back to you.

This area is not fenced off from the road. There are signs indicating where leash laws do and don't apply. If your dog can't read, like mine, they are likely to end up where they shouldn't be and running on the road. Would be great if the area were completely fenced off.

A gate at the entrance would be nice. Our dog got out of the park and took off before we could get to him. What kind of off leash park doesn’t have a gate? Dang…I would chip in to buy one. A dog park that isn’t completely fenced in is just a park.

A lot of open space for your dog to run around and have fun. There is a trail that runs through it so if your dog doesn't listen to you that well he or she might just run and run ha ! Some areas are not fenced in so keep that in mind. But overall very nice dog park. Neat trails to walk through. Will definitely be back !

This is a great little off leash park. We were heading from Michigan to Colorado via i-80 and this was a quick stop off our route. It has an off leash area that connect to other pathways. The only reason I didn't give it a five star is because a lot of people did not pick up after their dogs. In the few acres, there were up to 35 piles that dog owners left behind. It was sad to see that people were not being good stewards of the generosity of the land and space given.

Real fun place to take your dog. Keep in mind that it’s not fully fenced all around so you’ll wanna make sure your doggo knows their commands pretty well before you let them off leash.

This place is a great outdoor area to exercise your dog. There is convenient parking, friendly people, and it is well kept. I wish they enforced dog poop pickup more and had better restrooms though. Pretty good!

This is a great place to walk your dog if you want to let them off the leash. I thought it was going to be more of a "dog park" where the dogs could socialize, but its not set up for that. Its more of just a trail.

We took our German Shorthaired Pointers to burn off some energy. They loved the grass and brush area for hunting all of the smells. We enjoyed the mowed tree area where we could get out of the sun. Great for off leash walks.
