Just moved to Portland Oregon. I was looking for a doggy daycare and came across Dogtopia in this area and they are extremely friendly. My dog really loves it here and I feel completely safely my dog here. One of the best places for dog care,boarding and spa! I feel relived that my puppy gets to play with others in a safe, clean environment. On top of all that every dog is up to their shots. I also get to watch my pup on camera whenever I want to check in to see how his doing! We boarded our dog here for nine days recently in addition to a few trial day trips. Our dog came back with behavioral issues she didn't have before which isn't great, but may not be Dogtopia's fault. What is their fault is their terrible customer service. We often have to wait 10+ minutes when we go for anyone to check us in or out and in the recent nine day trip they over charged us by $300, admit that they over charged us, but refuse to issue a credit. The site manager says his operations manager must approve the credit but after multiple weeks this mythical ops manager has never responded to calls or emails. Sadly I'd advise anyone to avoid due to their apparent staffing shortage and unethical business practices.

I've had very similar experiences to other reviewers with regards to being billed incorrectly and not getting the appropriate credit. The 2-star review is primarily due to the management of the business. I've made multiple calls and emails to the Operations Manager, Jaime, whom I was told is the ONLY person authorized to refund the credit. She has yet to give me the courtesy of a reply over the course of 1mos of my many communication attempts. The other issue is the lack of training that the staff receives which is problematic as there seems to be a lot of turnover. My dog passed the meet-n-greet and I was told that she is able to sign up for the daycare. I brought her in only to be told that she needed her flu shot which is totally understandable, but why not address that at the meet-n-greet and inform me then? The facility itself is fine.

1/26/2025 UPDATE: Ive gotten feedback from the owner now here at Google Review. I've called many times, left messages to call me back. I even went on-site to discuss with the store owner, Annika Traxler. But I was tiold the mgr is in the mtg inside and she doesn't know when mtg ends. I again asked her to communicate Annika and asked her to call me back. All the initiation of the discussion from me has been ignored. So only option for me to quit enrolling of doggy day care and write a review here. Store mgr, Annita, knows my tel number. There is no reason she doesn't call me. ============== I saw the ads on FB for one week free trial. When I contacted, meet & greet is needed to first which made sence that they need to check behavioral issue etc. Over the phone, the 3 vaccinations were being checked verbally and asked to upload proof of record into their app which I did. On the day of the greet & meet, I brought my dog at the first time. Test was done and I was told I can enroll doggy day care. And I was asked to pay $19.99 for meet & greet. I told the receptionist that I wasn't told meet&greet incur the cost, hence, I am not paying. Instead, please have mgr or owner to call me to discuss. Next day, I've gotten the phone call from manager. She told me meet&greet for one week free trial is free. And she said receptionist wasn't educated well about charging system. WHAT? Non-educates charging system is in charge of asking payment to customer!? Then I was told I need to enroll first to get one week free day cares. How come I need to enroll in order to test out if day care works for my dog!? But anyway, I enrolled in order to test out free day care. At the day care, attended person never initiate play to any dogs. My dog and other dogs sniffed each other. That's all my dog did. My dog was kept closer to the door. After a couple of hours, she sit down and did nothing. I don't think this environment stimulates my dog at all. With this scenario, it's same as if she stays at our home. The 2nd free day care was same. So I'm going to cancel enrollment. I asked the receptionist to have mgr to call me as she told me mgr is in the meeting now. But I never had a phone call back. In the evening, I didn't see my dog anymore in video camera. I checked all 3 rooms video camera, she wasn't in any. When I arrived doggy day care, I walked around outside of building to check if my dog is in one of 3 rooms. I didn't see her. I entered into building and asked to pick up dog. When I was handed over my dog, I asked where she was. I checked 3 rooms from outside, she wasn't in any of the 3 rooms. Then receptionist told me she got too stimulated and needed to calm down. I showed her many pictures I took from video that she was always in one spot near door. And many photos, she was sitting down quietly. Then receptionist re-worded my dog was annoyed in noisy environment and she wanted to be separated. WHAT? I guess she just guessed and just saying what she THINKS instead of telling me she doesn't know anything why my dog was taken out from play room. Many workers here need to be educated and trained how to deal with customers appropriately. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. I picked up my puppy golden retriever from her meet and greet appointment and she was limping. We needed x rays and her toe had been snapped in half. 3 hours at Dogtopia Cedar Mill for us now means 10 weeks (the rest of summer) in a cast for my puppy. Disappointed in this daycare. I had everything set up for my dogs meet and greet then 1 hour before they called me saying she can’t come because she doesn’t have the canine influenza vaccine. I was not informed that it was required. I’ve worked at many dog daycares and that’s never been a requirement. It’s an optional vaccine so I find it a bit ridiculous to require it. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dogtopia of Cedar Mill! The staff is so friendly and so loving to my fur baby. Everyone is so kind and passionate about working with dogs. I have done daycare and boarding for my fur baby and each time she comes back home she is happy and tuckered out. I love watching her from the cameras and getting updates from the canine coaches while she is away for boarding. I have already referred a friend here and she and her fur baby love it just as much. If you want a place where you can take your pup for an amazing time without worrying, look no further. Truly a wonderful experience!!! Do not bring your dog here. Our puppy has been going here for day care for the past 7 months. The first several months were great! Great staff who loved our dog and really took care of him. The last 2-3 months have been awful. Our puppy is a 1 year old mini Aussie…so obviously he is young and has very high energy. We picked him up one day and was told that he needs “behavioral lessons or to be put on medication” because he is “relentless” when he is playing. We were told that he needs to be in the crate “to settle down” for 10-15 minutes which I understand. On several occasions we witnessed on cameras the staff leaving him in the crate for over 40 minutes and another time for over 2 hours. They take a 2 hour nap from 12-2 crated, so if they are constantly crating him during play time and then again during nap time when does he get any time to play with other dogs? So We are paying for our dog to have a good time at day care and if he’s just being locked up in the crate and not able to burn his energy it isn’t doing anyone any good. I could have appreciated if the staff would have said “this isn’t working out with him you should bring him somewhere else” but they didn’t…they continued to take our money for the daycare days and just handled it by crating him for a ridiculous amount of time. The other interesting thing is that we witness other dogs playing just like he does but they do not crate those dogs as long as they do ours….we will not be returning to this day care. I know he has a lot of energy, the staff should be properly trained on how to deal with all breeds. He’s a 1 year old puppy who is a herding dog….come on. We are currently waiting for a “manager” to call us to discuss this and hopefully get some portion of a refund we have already paid for….we have been waiting for two weeks now. The original staff when we first brought him were awesome, we definitely miss them. At first we were nervous about trying doggie daycare. Upon arrival, everyone was super friendly and gave us a tour. They have cameras in their playrooms so you can check on your pup too. We absolutely love it (and Gracie does too). It has been a great social opportunity for her and we feel she is in safe hands. The send us pup dates on how she’s doing and share cute pics they take too. We love Dogtopia! This is a wonderful location to board your dog. My dog was terrified when she first starting going there, but fairly quickly came to love it. She was so excited to go and thrilled to see all the staff. The staff are wonderful - very friendly and helpful. I managed to completely mess up my account with them and they were great about working with me to reach a mutually beneficial compromise/solution. It was my dog was new to Dogtopia. It was his third time. They had 3 of his breed in the play room. All with the same color collars. They brought “my dog” and I questioned that it was him. The eyes were the same but the color/coat were different. They were like- this is him. I looked at his collar and it matched. So I went against my gut and left. I got this dog home, and thought I was losing my mind. I called them and I said this is not my dog!! I took him back. Thank the heavens, my dog was still there. They said one weak, I’m sorry and I was just so shocked I left. 1. They took their collars off- but have no way of tracking them. 2. They let me take another dog home. 3. They did nothing to apologize for their gaslighting and horrific mistake. 4. I messaged the local office and corporate with no response so far. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG’S HERE. When this location originally opened the staff was warm, nurturing, and attentive. I believe Brittney managed the opening and she was great. Last August, we left our dog here for a long weekend and upon our return I witnessed him being harassed by another dog in the toy box room (the 1 attendant in the room was busy cleaning things to notice) and when we got home home I noticed teeth marks along his underside. None of the staff could tell me what happened. It was this negligence and the over crowding of their spaces that turned us away initially. We tried to give them another try, and still disappointed. We will not be returning. So disappointed. We wanted to take our 7 mos. old here for socialization and to let him get some wiggles out. During our initial visit, we could only stay 5 min. The smell of urine was so bad that it gave me a headache. You could see puddles of urine on the floor in both rooms. The staff was sweet but there were 4 of them hanging out in the front with us. If you have time to lean; you have time to clean. Opportunity missed.

it's a very nice facility and my dog loves it there, but their administrationm is a mess. Twice they have messed up reservations so badly or forgotten to follow through on things, I was comped, because the call center has no idea what the facility does and the app is a big problem. Onec you get past all of that, the place is great.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dogtopia Cedar Mill! We've been bringing our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, King Louie, since they first opened their doors in 2021. From day one, the staff has treated our pup like family. The care and attention they provide is exceptional – you can see that the staff genuinely loves dogs. Our Cavalier comes home happy and tired after every visit, which tells us everything we need to know about the quality of play and supervision during the day. We especially appreciate that they have multiple playrooms, so our dog is assigned to “Toybox”, allowing him to socialize and play safely with other dogs around his own size. Dogtopia Cedar Mill has been helpful in proactively reminding us to keep our immunizations up to date. I have shared a lot of constructive feedback over the past 4 years and they’ve listened and improved over time. The new General Manager, Jennie, has already elevated the operations and customer service to a very high level. Her attention to detail and genuine passion for creating the best possible environment is evident in everything from communication to the daily operations. Whether we need daycare or boarding, we have complete peace of mind knowing our boy is in such capable, loving hands. The app makes it easy to book and update appointments, and the webcams are a fantastic feature that lets us check in throughout the day. If you're looking for a place where your dog will be safe, happy, and truly cared for, Dogtopia Cedar Mill is absolutely the place. Highly recommend! The staff working at the front desk doesn’t seem to know how to work the scheduling system. We asked for the 2 day/week package but somehow that wasn’t set on a recurring payment so we were charged the full $46 per day twice without notice. When I called about getting a refund, I was told “the request would be sent to the manager.” When I followed up again via text, they responded “We wont get any updates, You'll be notified by corporate of any changes moving forward!” So I assume that the manager is never on site.
