Dunlavy Park

This is a great place for kids. The playground has lots of shade and there’s a nice splash pad. You do have to call the city periodically to get them to clean blocked drainage, either on the splash pad or the concrete-curb-ringed area around the playground. It’s also a great venue for a child’s birthday party, especially if you combine it with a tour of the nearby firehouse. Playground The playground is great with lots of shade. Although I wish the big-kids swings were in the shade. Restrooms There’s a porta potty but I try not to use it cause there’s usually homeless guys using it. Dog-friendliness There are always people at the dog park. It’s just a single area, though. There’s no separate areas for small & large dogs. Picnic area Nice picnic areas, especially a couple in the shade.

The water feels amazing in this heat. You might get weird looks as an adult playing in the fountain, but it’s too hot for judgement.
