Beautiful, easy walk/(run/bike) along the harbor coast. Dogs on leash areas too! Views of forts and historical artifacts plus history about the city was very interesting. Plus we saw a groundhog! Highly recommend.

This trail takes you along the bay in the eastern part of town. You can either walk, run, or bicycle. There is a gravel path for running. Many people walk their dogs and tourist from the cruise ships stroll here

Excellent trail to walk on! Paved and flat, so very easy. Coastal view the whole way. Free street parking at a park along it. Would definitely come here again!

I have traveled this trail both by foot 👣 and by train 🚂. Next to the Marginal Way trail in Ogunquit Maine, this is one of the best waterfront trails I have walked on! Google Maps actually takes you to the Marina entrance. The downtown entrance is further down. Besides the incredible view of Casco Bay, you have access to and encounter so much. Parks, memorials, a beach 🏖️, a passing train 🚂, different types of birds and flora. The path also accommodates 🚲 bikes and dogs 🐕. It was over an hour round trip. There are maps along the way. All of the trail is paved and wheelchair ♿ accessible. There are benches along the way so you can stop and rest. The only insects I encountered were 🐝 bees and dragonflies. I really recommend this trail! Playground You will pass a park that has a playground, tennis 🎾 and basketball 🏀 courts. Also a baseball ⚾ diamond. Restrooms You will pass Ocean Gateway in which public restrooms are available. Dog-friendliness Dogs 🐶 are allowed but must have a 8' leash and must be cleaned up afterwards. Picnic area You can picnic 🧺 along the trail. I only noticed picnic tables at the beach and parks.

We picked the perfect day to walk along the trail from Munjoy Hill to the harbor. There were some nice shady spots w/ benches to sit and enjoy the view as well.

While visiting Portland with my dog, I was searching for an easily accessible, fun place to walk my dog in the city. This was just the place! It’s a nice path along the marina, railway, and coastline. There’s tons of dogs, runners, bikers,… and everyone is very nice! There’s a couple of off leash sections, the best one being a little beach perfect for throwing the ball. The whole walk took me about an hour. Highly recommend this as a dog owner! Dog-friendliness Several trash cans, off leash areas and plenty of dogs.

Loved this park! Absolutely serene walk along the shore with views of the islands. They have food trucks there for food and they have small beach areas along with a place to rent kayaks. Great place to get fresh air, walk your dog, run, bike, paddle board, or just sit near the water and contemplate life.

Beautiful scenic walk along the coastline. It is a bite-sized walk that's great to take your time with. View of the boats and the bay. I saw some people fishing so I guess that's allowed. Apple trees along the grassy areas. Great place to relax and bike too. There is a train that goes up and down this trail and some abandoned train cars near the southern part of the trail that could be neat to explore. There's also a beach area at the middle part of the trail.
