Halloween decorations are up this time of year, along the main running trail and into the bunker there. On the higher trail, there was an even spookier sight to behold. Two massive writing spiders! Couldn't get a good enough photo, but just one of the many wildlife you can see here. Dog-friendliness Leash friendly, has some pick-up containers throughout. Picnic area Yes! Has a couple picnic areas that I saw along the trails, with charcoal grills to boot.

Really pretty place to hike or bike. The parking is plentiful and there are many trails. It's not crowded. There is also a visitor center with clean restrooms, maps, and a water refill station. The map makes finding trails according to skill level very easy. We also stumbled across a work out / fitness station. Playground Did not see a playground. Restrooms Clean restrooms Dog-friendliness Leashed dog friendly

The happiest place on earth! The trails are well-maintained and I don't recall ever seeing any poison ivy there. I'm interested to see how the addition of the disc golf will affect the peaceful solitude I've come to expect and treasure on the Hawk's Ridge/ Dogwood path trails. When I worked at City Cafe I would often going running in the forest to get some fresh air, clear my mind and get endorphins going. I have never had a bad experience here, no matter much much I try to recall one. I can honestly say this is my happy place!!

Gorgeous park with lots of paved roads closed off to cars, which makes it ideal for strollers and road bikes. They have off road trails as well, old bunkers, a dog park, a nice visitors center, and an outdoor workout area. Restrooms Restrooms available at the visitors center at the front of the park, and vault toilets within the park. Dog-friendliness There is a fenced dog park

Love this place. Something for everyone. Easy strolls or moderate hills. Paved or trails. Bike or walk. Been visiting weekly for 5 years, and it’s fun to see this place evolve. Sometimes you may see deer, owls and the occasional snake.

Great park with lots to offer. Miles of hiking, horseback, and mountain bike trails that often intertwine, giving you the option to make your hike as long or short as you want. I strongly recommend grabbing a map from the visitor center as trail signage could be better. Plenty of well placed benches along the path to take breaks. Clear pathway markers when crossing over the paved road was much appreciated. Only two dedicated picnic areas, one on the lower poe run path and another near the lake. There are lots of cool extras at this park that make it convenient. There's a bike repair and cleaning station, a dog wash station, a wildlife viewing platform, outdoor fitness stations, and a historical bunker display to learn more about the area. The dog park is large and very well maintained. Small and large dogs are not separated, it's one big area for all sizes. The horse trails have trail posts at 1/2 mile increments, only two water troughs on the trail, one right at the entrance and the other near the 7 mile mark. There's a disc golf course located here as well, I haven't been personally but the map states it's 18 holes. I would expect it's also well maintained based on the rest of the park. Restrooms Porta potty style restrooms throughout the park. Dog-friendliness On leash dogs welcome on all hiking trails. Off leash dogs are welcome at the dog park only. Picnic area Only two dedicated picnic areas, one at the lake and one on lower Poe Run trail.

A wonderful nature park with multiple trails; Some paved. Trails for hikers, mountain bikers, and horses. A nice dog park; and even disc golf. Trails are marked and vary length and level of difficulty. A paved obe way road circles the park for car traffic. Interesting finds along the trails include overlooks, cemeteries, and a small lake. A great place to view wildlife or to have a picnic lunch. Super friendly staff to answer questions and give advice. I continue to go here for fresh air and some exercise.
