Essex County Branch Brook Park Dog Park

awesome dog park! there is a beautiful long pavement path to walk around the ponds in the middles and I believe there were even some trails into the woods. the dog park is where we went though and it's clean, well kept and large. there are plenty of stimulating obstacles for the dogs and there is a separated gate for large and small dogs with the same type of fun playground on either side. my doggo had a blast with the other dogs and the whole place is just beautiful for a day out, date, picnic, etc. calm and clean area

Excellent place to take your dog!! Nice friendly place for your baby to get exercise an become getting used to being with other dogs.. safe an secured place to be for you an your pet. I was there again today, ,,,,it's a great outing for your dog..But sometimes some people bring bigger dogs in the small dog part,,, and I don't like that,, cause the smaller dogs be afraid!! Well I know my pomeranian do..They need to enforce the rules.

A couple who visit the dog park every day think it is for them only. Their dog is too aggressive. These bullies told me I shouldn't be there since they're there every day and I should go to Montclair. I was threatened by these people. Sheriffs dept did nothing.

What a fantastic addition to the park! This was sorely needed and a great job by Essex County getting it done! The only downside is that the perimeter fence is a bit low (4 feet?) - concerned a big, agile dog could clear that in a single bound. Other than that - bravo!

My dog had a blast very nice place to take big dog or small dogs.

Great little dog park in Branch Brook Park. There is a small and large dog are so you can comfortably bring your pup to play. The dog park is clean with some different obstacles for your dog to play on and some benches for the owners. There's stations with bags and trashcans for everyone to pick up after their dog and water fountains for them to get some fresh water from. Great place to get out of the urban environment and let your dog run.

Our boys Cooper and Cody love the park so much. We bring them over every Saturday and Sunday around 5pm. Hoping to meet more doggy friends!

A new and well-kept park for all dogs small medium or large. Well equipped with bags and water fountains and other entertainment equipment for dogs to run and play about. A great place to bring your dog. Be mindful if it's your pets first time here he can become overwhelmed by other pets so for first-timers keep close watch as your pet may become overwhelmed from the other dogs and odors, but this will pass

Clean and big dog park with separate run areas for big and small dogs. The park provides garbage bags for your dog's poop, there are friendly dog owners however the park closes early in the winter months. : ( **Warning** - Please remember to lock your car doors when leaving your car. Someone got in my friends car (she forgot to lock her door) while she was in the dog park. My friend went back into her car and saw everything from her glove compartment all over the seat and floor. The thief was looking for valuables but they didnt find anything. Please remember to lock your car doors but otherwise the Branch Brook Dog Park is a great addition to the park!!

We love that the dog park is so spacious and in the beautiful branch park but it is not being regularly maintained. They have two sides where they split small dogs and large dogs. The large dog side has many holes dug out and other issues with the general upkeep and cleanliness. The city should fix the issue at the entrance where all the water from the drinking fountain pools together. The drainage was not well designed in that area and it should be rectified. It is a collection of water overflow, dog urine, and other fluids which will make everyone's dog sick. There are also a few activity elements in the large dog park that are bent, damaged, and/or broken. This results in exposed sharp or jagged metal edges that can, will, and have cut dogs while I've been at the park. Until this park is more regularly maintained it's hard to give it a better rating.

Nice and clean but small compared to the size of the park. It could have been a little bigger. Also, there are no trees to shade the benches for the dog owners to sit on. The water fountain on the small dog side was either not working or not turned on. Although there's a park entrance near the dog park you have to drive a long ways to get to exit the park because it's one way traffic on the road near the dog park. I think the fencing should be taller like at Brookdale's Dog Park. All in all I'm happy Newark has a dog park.

My dog loves this large park. There are poop bags, water fountains and obstacle courses available.

Nice big park they have big and small dog sections with working water fountains gor the fur balls Restrooms They do have stalls Dog-friendliness You have to communicate that with the dog owners Picnic area They do have benches but don't know if your allowed to grill

It's a nice dog park most the people are great and most of the dogs are well behaved. Some of the dog obstacles are broken and the fountain in the big dog side does not work Dog-friendliness Made just for dogs to run around

My dog really like this park. The people and dogs were friendly towards us. It is clean, with plenty of benches to sit while you pet 🐕 enjoy themselves. I have been to parks where I notice I had to keep and eye on him so he doesn't try to get out the area through a hole in the fence. There's nothing to worry about here, brand new and looks like it. 0:29
