It has always been kind of neglected and now attracts homeless folks living on edges. The grass area that folks used for soccer is not being irrigated so at least the ducks stay away but it is now basically dry dirt. In years to come this area will become part of the park maintained by the massive Brooklyn Basin project but for now you'll just have to wait. Come to fish from the pier, watch some sailboats, fly a kite but that's about it.

Beautiful and relaxing area with a lovely Sunday Farmer's Market every week.

Great sunset spot...bit of sketchy trashy sometimes. Used to have a great sculpture that was removed. Encampment is there now. 10/24 :( Still has beautiful spots, but also some problems. 3/25: they are making it very hard to park nearby.

I'm not from this area but I stopped with an old friend and we walked the trail, quiet place for walking, running, biking or just chilling. Was a bit breezy mid afternoon but still nice.

It's a small park but the view of the water is great, especially if you like the rowing teams. There's a field where I see a lot of ppl w their dogs off leash playing ball or training them. Not much parking and a lot of broken glass in the parking lot. Trash cans are usually overfilled and spilling over the area. There is also a small homeless encampment there too. They are usually quiet and their area is generally cleaner than the rest of the park.

Be safe and skip it. This “park” and its picnic area are a homeless magnet and not secure. The soccer field described is never mowed, and if it were, you'd find trash and broken glass everywhere because it backs up to the homeless encampment. The trails mentioned are not marked or complete and suddenly end. I'd rate a -0, but that's not available. This “project” started in 2018 and may never be Finalized or realized. So, be Safe and try Dunns Trail or other surrounding trails.

Large open space for humans and animals alike. Not crowded at all but that may be because its not easy to find. Great view of the water, SF, sailboats.etc. it's peacefulness. There is a covered picnic area also. Three are a few local transients who occupy a little part of the park but nothing to be insecure about. The grass is not green..it's dead

With all the stuff that's going on in the world, going to the estuary is just a place you can see people just being themselves teenagers learning how to kayak people saying hello having a short conversation and you just enjoy the water the water draws peace into your spirit. It's just a good place to reflect and take a few breaths and let go of the negativity and there's not a whole bunch of people around It's peaceful.

Strikes me as a well-kept-secret sort of park. Pretty walk along the shore, views of the water and of Alameda. Long docks to walk out onto, where people and their boats (and their dogs) enjoy the water. Nice relief from the touristy Jack London Square area. People minding their own business. Other reviews seem worried about homeless people, but we did not see any such issues on our visit. It's a big city, in a tough time, but this seems a peaceful refuge where nobody's bothering anybody.

It used to be a great place for a game of soccer and a picnic but has become over run with trash, shady characters and homeless. I used to park in the aquatic park parking lot but it has been closed due to covid n I'm not sure if or when it might come back online at this point, but I hope so. Anyways this spot is still a great free place to park and see the inlet of the bay and fish. I would however not stray far from your vehicle for obvious reasons.

Great Park right on the water, a few people living on their boats leave them alone they're having a tough enough time. People living on the boats seem to be the only ones that cleans the park. I saw a city of Oakland parks and recreation trucks four employees sitting in the park in the truck for almost three and a half hours.

I have been coming here my whole life. I love it. Ok fishing and my dog loves to take a dip over here. The only thing is the new homeless people don't appreciate this place. They leave it dirty. And I have seen way too many hypodermic needles laying around. I now don't even want to bring my kids there.

Peaceful, water, boats, water front walkway that’s a bit rough. Plenty of parking. The rowing teams practice from the aquatic center. Fascinating to watch the 10 person rowing teams. Other boats are sail boats anchored off shore Today was nice and no wind until 5:00 pm. Nice place to let traffic clear up. Wildlife can be seen on the water
