My dog loved it there. But we weren't supposed to go in it's only accessible to city residents. The only time we did enter some doggy parents saw her peering through the fence and whimpering because she wanted to play. They allowed us in. And she played til the others left. We are transplants from Arizona where dog parks are staples. We now live in Oak Park, and what they have here is a muddy UNFINISHED mess!!

It’s a mediocre park at best. The biggest issue is just that there aren’t many people bringing their dogs here so there’s not much of a good experience for your pet to socialize. Also my dog was once bit on the face while she was there, so that wasn’t very cool. Overall, it’s a pretty underwhelming place. Mark Twain dog park is just 15 minutes north of here and that park is always busy with so many dogs, responsible pet owners who are super friendly, and it’s huge. Maybe this place will improve over time? But anyone who thinks this is a great dog park probably has just never been to an actual good one.

From what i can see it looks like a nice dog park. 50/year membership fee. I cant utilize it because im not a resident of ferndale. I wish they would allow neighboring cities to use it perhaps at a larger fee.

Great spot for a dog park. Some owners are a little militant and hesitant of playing but it’s a great place for dogs to run out some energy!

I have lived in 12 states in the USA, in many beautiful areas and always with a dog. I have never had to pay to visit a dog park. The situation here in Ferndale is an elitist impulse and makes me very sad.

Nice park. Dog area fenced in. Large enough park to enjoy the outdoors but still keep social distance from others.

Needs membership! As a medical courier, who travels a lot I look for dog parts for my service animal that needs to stretch his legs. I find that these membership only dog parks really hinder the people that need them.

Nothing special, went there for a soccer game. There was a dog park, but you cannot use it unless you have a membership. Bathrooms were quite dirty the day I was present.

You have to have a key to get in this place. I'd be ok if it was a beautiful dog park with a stream going through it but I've seen backyards bigger than this place.

Gets a little muddy but a fun and safe place for my pups to play!

Loved the dog park, pretty clean so folks have cleaned up after themselves. There’s fresh water and an area for big dogs and a smaller area just for smaller dogs. There was even a few piece’s of an agility course. Worth getting your permit/key an getting the dog some exercise with friends

I like this park. It has more shade then most dog parks. And so far the owners of the dogs seem to be alert. Just a side information. If you are ever in the position where a dog attacks your dog. Ceasar says make your hand like a claw. And put it on the attacking dogs neck. It should stop attacking. According to Ceasar the dog whisperer. The dog will see you as an Alpha dog and back down. FYI I never heard or saw any attacks at this park. ( but this information helped me stop an attack once.) But not here.

Be prepared for lots of sun!! The children's play area is worn down and completely in the sun. There are no benches to sit on while the kids play. There are some picnic tables further away, but they are all in the sun. The play area is older and some parts are broken. There are still a couple slides, wobbly bridge and stepping peices that my younger kids enjoy. It is best suited for 2-7 year olds. Older kids would be bored! There are a bunch of big and infant swings, which are nice, but in full sun. Nice dog park, but you need to take a course and other things to receive a gate pass to gain entry. The bathrooms are typically open, but not always. There basketball court is not functional (no backboard or hoops). There is a lot of open grass out in the sun if you want to play soccer or fly small kites.

All star ratings are for the bathroom, not the establishment. The Ferndale Dog Park was the closest Google had to "Wilson Park". The bathroom here is a pretty common luxury outhouse. I have seen worse, but this is nothing special. The good thing about it is that people are already expecting it to be smelly... so if you can brave it yourself... go for it.... good luck.

Cute fenced area for the dogs to run and play in. Public restrooms. Picnic area, playground, and soccer field. One star off because I found a bag of poop and a used ear swab. Bring hand sanitizer.

This is a really nice dog park. It has a dog fountain, dog courses, trash cans with doggy bags and even some toys laying around. It’s divided into 2 sections: < 20 lbs & > 20 lbs. You do need a key fob to get in. You have to take an online course and pay $50/year for the access. Unless someone who’s already there it’s nice enough to let you have access to it.

Currently for Ferndale residents only. Water and refuse bags available for the dogs. Will get nicer as new shade trees grow, currently very limited shade

It was a dope moment. Nice and peaceful. A nice place to chill and relax at in your car. You can also walk your animal there. Salute!

Never in my life have I lived in a place where you have to be a “member” to go to a dog park. Entirely not normal that because I don’t live in the town of the park, I have to pay more or pay at all. Wild how there aren’t public places I can take my dog in this weird suburban hellscape
