Was not able to use because this dog park is now members only and you need a key to unlock the gate to enter. Mulched park with grassy area and trees located next to the highway. Metered street parking.

You need to be a resident of Forest Park. Sure wish that was clearly noted on maps. I have now been to a third dog park where i have to find out when I get there. -1 for not clearly stating residents only -1 because It is frustrating to find out. +3 it is super clean. It is long so big dogs can really get going before having to turn. And there was decent parking. And thank you

Only four stars because it’s gets preeeeetty muddy, even in the winter. We tend to avoid it when it’s pretty crowded, but it’s a great early morning spot (or late night) to help the doggo get out some energy (and it’s not super dark at night bc there are plenty of streetlights around it).

The park district needs to keep it up better. Brought my dog there for the first time today and I tripped about 3 times because of the large branches on the ground...not good. Secondly the trees could use a trim down and people need to be a more responsible and pick up their pets toys. I don't need my dog chewing on a toy from some random dog that's been sitting there for who knows how long. There must have been 3 different toys just sitting on the ground. Lastly, as a note to pet owners, the reason to bring your dog to a dog park is so that they can run around, get socialized and get exercise. I have a large breed dog who might be perceived as "agressive" even though he's a big baby. I didn't feel comfortable letting him loose with smaller dogs around (at least during the initial training phase). I don't mind waiting until you leave, but don't just sit there on the bench, talking on your phone while your dog sits next to you..you can do that at home! Either play with your dog, have him/her play with the other dogs or leave. You ruin the opportunity for other dogs and their owners to actively engage, especially larger breed dogs who are puppies and need the exercise.

Nice dog park. Fenced in, wood chips, big space. There weren't really any dogs there when we went, so figuring out the busy times so my pooch can really romp around will be needed. It had recently rained and even with the wood chips there were a number of puddles, which isn't a big deal if you don't mind some wet dog, but be forewarned if you do.

It's a nice free dog park that's close to where I live. Occupants were very nice and even offered water to my dog. Their dogs were well behaved. Just wasn't much grass. A lot of dirt and shrubbery was untamed. Other than that, it was a nice experience.

I'm grateful to have a dog park close by, and the dogs and people who use it are friendly and considerate. But it is SO small!

Nice dog park! There are some obstacle course installations and a water fountain, which are nice added features. The ground is mostly dirt though so it can get kind of muddy in the winter. If you’re allergic to dogs, don’t go to a dog park. You need to register a dog in order to even get a key to get in so why would you leave a review for a dog park complaining about being to allergic to dogs…? Also fwiw, all the dogs we’ve met here have been very friendly, but it’s unfair to judge any dog park by any of the dogs that are there at any particular moment in time because a) things can happen anywhere and b) dogs are the responsibility of the dog owner, not the dog park. Just like parents are responsible for where they bring their kids. There’s a public park right across the street that’s open to the public and has a big sign that says no dogs allowed if that’s the kind of park you want instead, and you don’t need a key to get into that one.

Well keep dog park. Group of friendly dog owners and their well-behaved pets. Park for owners that sign up and pay a small annual fee for entry.
