I like to stop here for a break on longer bike rides. No bathroom facilities, but there is a water fountain and places to sit in the shade for when it is hot. Also, there is small off-trail track for kids to practice their bike riding skills before they take on the W&OD.

Very nice park with a good trail system. There is some construction currently going on but in the future the trail is going to look very nice. Playground Lots of playgrounds nearby the trail.

This is nice rest area on W&OD for filing water and deposing any trash. They have various displays to educate about Chesapeake Bay watershed and pollution. This area have children play area along with adult stretching area.

A nice new place to stop on the north/west side of Columbia Pike off the WO&D trail. There are picnic tables, benches, a water fountain and a small circle for kids to practice riding their bikes. A few tenths of a mile further along the trail is a larger park with a playground, BBQ grills and another picnic area.

Glencarlyn Park abuts my back yard, so I have an incredible view all year long. Wildlife come into our yard from the park on a daily basis. Some of the animals include: barred owls, deer, foxes, raccoons, a pair of Coopers Hawk nesting nearby, box turtles, and recently a black coyote.
