Nice park. A little walk from the car but really a great place to run. Not too many other dogs when we came but our boy had a great run. Park is mostly grass which makes it a nicer place than others. Lightly wooded so plenty sun and shade. A little hard to find using gps.

Biggest public dog park around as far as I’m aware! First time here and will be back from the city in much better weather! A little wet and cold at the moment. A great place for dogs to run - 2 blocks long and 1 block wide totally fenced! With all the trees around the Summer Shade would be great during really hot humid days.

Too many awesome features to list! Park is very well shaded so that you and your doggos don't burn up. There are plenty of water bowls and small pools for the water lovers out there. Benches and picnic tables are placed throughout the park so you can rest while your fur kids play. Plenty of space for those long distance runners and fetchers. Trash cans and dog waste cleaning stations with bags stationed in various areas to keep it clean! One of the things that I find beneficial is that the park is not visible from the parking area so my dogs aren't going insane to get there before we can even park the car.

🐾 DMV Dog Park Reviews: Grist Mill Dog Park (Alexandria, VA) This Fairfax County dog park is a single large fenced area with grass, dirt, and trees — no small-dog section, but plenty of space for zoomies. There’s a water pump and even kiddie pools in summer, plus benches scattered throughout to make small social zones. Shade, sun, and a double gate make it a secure and balanced spot for pups to play. Lincoln’s Ratings: 👃 Sniffability: 4/5 💨 Zoomies: 4/5 🐶 Friend Potential: 4/5 🐾 Paw-Friendly: 5/5 🦴 Extras: 4/5 ✅ 21/25 – Tail-Wagging Good Time! Dog-friendliness It’s a dog park!

Great dog park. Very large, so you can spread out and let your dog explore and get use to the whole concept of socializing with other dogs.

What a great dog park! There's a double gate for safe entry/exit, the park caretakers (a volunteer association) ensure there are lots of poop bags, and there's water. In addition to bowls and hoses, there are a couple of kiddie pools for cooling off, which is super cute. The park surface is predominantly gravel, which does get dusty. There is a picnic table (which my puppy immediately learned to climb on top of!), Trash cans, and lots of tennis balls. Google maps has the walking entrance marked as the driving entrance, so if you're driving, put in the Grist Mill Park and not the dog park. There's lots of parking, but it's a couple of minutes from the entrance to the dog park.

Nice large park. Not muddy or dirty. It is close to busy, be careful if your dog is a runner if got loose.

This is, in my opinion, the best dog park in the area. All of the people who come are super friendly and really great about keeping an eye on their dogs and stopping problems before they start. They have running water and two swimming pools that are out from early spring until late fall. Because of the gravel material that they use it tends to dry out incredibly quickly, even after days of rain. It's open concept and a very nice place to go and get your dog exercise. They have lots of mature trees to offer shade as well. Her face in these photos says it all :)

We have been visting the area and we feel lucky to have such a big dog park so closeby. It was a lot more packed on Fridays and the weekends if you're looking for doggie socialization. There is no separate small dog section like at some other dog parks, but it is big enough so there is a lot of space.

Great park! There is lots of open space for the dogs to run, the fence and gates are in good condition, and there is a water hose free to use. The park is very clean and the people and dogs are friendly. Great place to go and just let the dogs run free!

Very roomy dog park and great place to take your pooch. Watch out for the crazy lady with 2-3 dogs and wearing a waist purse. She acts as if she owns the place; we were almost “carded” at the entrance.

Good, fenced-in dog park with plenty of space for big or small doggos to roam. Nice community of people come here as well. Stations provided with poop bags and water for the pups. Tables and benches available for the humans. Only critique is that the park is made of dirt/gravel and no grass, but there are trees!

Really should have separate areas for large and small dogs. My little 10 lb. Shih Tzu was repeated attacked by a large dog. She wasn't hurt but he kept after her until I was able to grab her. Then the same dog & a smaller one went after my 17 lb. Poodle mix. We got out of there as fast as we could. Terrible experience.

Of all the dog parks in this area, this one happens to be my favorite. You are within good company of the dog owners that come to the area regularly and nearly all dogs are socialized well. Patrons are respectful and conscientious of their responsibilities over their pets.

It is a huge fenced in dog park. It has kiddie pools and water bowls and a hand pump for water. There are benches and picnic tables to sit down at. There are 3 stations equipped with poop bags and they are usually balls and other kind of toys left around from previous guests. My puppy loves coming here. Dog-friendliness Because my dog is a puppy and she likes to play and jump, she still doesn't know her boundaries with other dogs all the time. And there's only been one time when a dog has snapped at her. But she was being annoying and it was an older dog so I totally understand.

Conscientious dog owners keep place clean & contribute to positive play experience. My puppy & I had a great time! Such nice dogs & people🐺👍👍😋 …

No grass, but large open space. Lots of seating around park, and one water spiket.

Took my goldendoodle there for the first time today. Will be taking him again! I really liked the trees inside and surrounding the park. Plenty of space for pups to share, tennis balls to chase, poop bags to clean up :)

This is a really cool dog park, most of the people are great, and they have water for the dogs. It’s large enough that many dogs can be in and spread out, but small enough that you can see all of the fence line. However, not everyone brings in well behaved dogs. There is a pit bull named Bullet that bit my dog, who gets along with every other dog. Beware of this dog, it will attack a dog with little warning beforehand. It is white with brownish markings

Great dog park. Plentiful shade, one picnic table, several benches in shade… Half is mixed grass and fine gravel and front half is mostly dust/gravel. There is a water pump (a little tough to turn off so don’t panic! Just put your back into it!) to fill water bowls and baby pools for cooling. There is a short walk down a path from Gunston soccer club. Look for dog park signs to right as pull in! Edges around the fence line are slightly worn and I realized great to either train dog walk off leash or just take a few laps while dog plays! (See last video) 0:18
