My dog Sj is a rescue who has reactivity challenges and has been working through re-socializing with other dogs since getting attacked a year ago. I’m beyond grateful for HoundsTown and the care they show my pup. She’s become so much more trusting of other dogs, has made new dog friends, and loves the staff. I love that HoundsTown is a one stop shop for dogs from boarding to grooming to daycare. They’re hours are super flexible for a young professional as myself who has long work hours. We couldn’t be happier with Houndstown Hartford. Our husky can get overwhelmed in large groups, and we love how they thoughtfully separate dogs into appropriate play groups. The staff is caring, the facility is clean, and we always have peace of mind. The spa facilities are an added bonus! We also board here and our girl comes home so happy! Highly recommend! I wouldn't bring our puppy Archie anywhere else! Bob and his entire team at Hounds Town are incredibly kind, attentive and genuinely care for every dog that walks through the door. It is such a relief to go to work knowing Archie is in a safe, fun environment where he is treated like family. One of the things I value most is their transparency; they are always open about how the day is going, which gives me total peace of mind. Whether it's for daily daycare, boarding or spa services, the quality of the care is unmatched. Archie always comes home happy and tired from having so much fun! A big highlight is their monthly "pawty" for the dogs. They take the most adorable photos and give out special treats. I also love that they give back by partnering with Dog Star Rescue to feature local dogs for adoption. It shows just how much they love the canine community. Finally, the location is super convenient. I work in Hartford and Hounds Town is right off I-91, making drop-offs and pick-ups a breeze. Whenever we pull into the parking lot, Archie's tail is wagging and he cannot wait to get out of the car to start playing with the other dogs. I’ve been bringing my dog Ruby to Hounds Town since she was a foster, and even after adopting her and being closer to another daycare, I couldn’t leave. The entire staff is amazing and you know they truly care and love the dogs there. Ruby is always happy going, has her regular friends she plays with, and always comes TIRED!! They also do cute holiday-themed party days with photos of the pups which are so cute. The facility is always clean, smells great, and the dogs are kept in smaller, well-monitored playgroups. We take Georgia to Hounds Town regularly. We've been impressed with how clean it is, the attention to detail and dog behavior. She loves it! We use the grooming service for her nails, and have boarded her and she goes to the day care at least weekly to enjoy socializing with other dogs when we aren't fostering a dog from Dogstar. My dog Tuck has been going to daycare here for about 3 months now. He had a shaky first day but the staff was nothing but exceptional. Tuck goes crazy with excitement whenever we pull into the parking lot and drags into the lobby. The staff are kind and communicative! We adopted our dog, Lenny, almost four months ago. He started going to Hounds Town shortly after. He has benefitted from the interaction and we have benefitted from a dog who is ready to relax after a full day of play. Initially I was disappointed with the small, indoor rooms there. I quickly came to love the concept. The staff does a great job putting dogs together in complementary groups. They get to know the dogs' play styles and even the dogs they have bonded with. Lenny has some besties there for sure! Dogs that just want to hang out have a place, but dogs that like to wrestle and use their mouths have a place too. The dogs don't run much, but after seeing Lenny in larger dog parks, that is actually a bonus because the risk of injuries seems way lower than when he is running full speed and taking big tumbles in a big, outdoor environment. Having safe play no matter the weather is a big perk too. The facility never smells and always appears clean. The staff here really seems to like the dogs and knows them and me by name. Lenny has boarded too and came back to us as happy and joyful as when we left him. They also support rescue organizations which is a huge plus for me. Of course there will be the minor injuries and illnesses just like with human kid daycare. They are great about pointing out scratches or bumps to watch, which Lenny gets because he plays rough. There was an outbreak of kennel cough which is basically like a dog cold and is very common in these kinds of places. Hounds Town did a great job communicating about the exposure, educating pet parents, and doing extra cleaning. Hounds Town has helped us transform our unruly little guy into a beloved family member. I am beyond grateful for HT in Hartford! I moved and started a new job and felt really anxious about all this newness with an older dog. Hounds Town to the rescue! They are SO attentive to Biggie, they learn your dogs temperaments and needs. I love the videos whenever I want to see how he’s doing. My dog absolutely loves coming here for daycare—he gets so excited that he pulls me through the door! The staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming, and he always has a blast. They host fun events for the pups, and I adore the adorable souvenir photos we get to take home. Their bathing services are top-notch too. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. My rescue dog is very nervous around people and takes a while to warm up to new environments. The Hounds Town staff takes great care in giving each dog the curated attention they need based on their personality so they can have the best daycare experience. I am so beyond grateful for all the patience and love they have shown my pup. They really go the extra mile here. The facility is clean and colorful, they post everyday on Facebook so you can see your dog having the best time, and they even offer “doggie spa” services so you can come back to clean pup! It really feels like you are part of a family when you come here. Whether you are looking for daycare or boarding, Hounds Town is the BEST. My goldendoodle Hudson loves going to play at Houndstown. He gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot and runs to the staff when we arrive. I am a distant memory at that point which makes me happy knowing he feels comfortable and safe with them. The events they do are so fun. I love to see the pics of him playing with his friends on social media. If you want to socialize your dog, this is the place to do it. They take such good care of the pups. I cannot say enough good things about Houndstown Hartford. My rescue is timid and I wasn't sure how she would do at daycare. They answered all of my questions and started her slowly with only a few dogs her size until they could see she was ok. Now she has made some friends and continues to get a little more comfortable every time. She has even started to run up to the staff when we arrive. I have been bringing my 5 y.o daughter Harley to Hounds Town for roughly 7/8 months now. I am always hesitant about who I trust with her since she’s a Pitbull and has battled breed discrimination in the past. Since day 1, Hounds Town Hartford has welcomed her with open arms. They provide report cards and picture updates, post daily videos, and even celebrate fun holidays with sweet treats and photo shoots. Staff at Hounds Town really took the time to learn Harley’s personality, she’s extremely gentle and sweet but can be shy in new places. So they took the time to pair her with other new puppies joining the facility to help them warm up to daycare and build confidence in group settings. I love that grooming services are on site and I can drop Harley off in the morning, and pick her up in the afternoon freshly bathed with clipped nails. Lastly, she is EXHAUSTED when I pick her up at the end of the day. She’s asleep in my backseat before I even hit the highway. I cannot thank Hounds Town Hartford enough, but I can try. Every time I drop my dog off at Houndstown, I know he’s in good hands. He practically walks ME inside the facility everyday so he can go play with his friends. The staff is SO friendly and patient!!! You can tell how much they care for the pups. My Coquito is typically a timid dog, but every time he’s with one of the employees, he rushes to them to shower them with kisses (and the love is reciprocated!!). That’s how I know he’s being treated well. Could not recommend this place any more to whomever is reading this. Bonus: They have lil pup events where they’ll take cute polaroid pictures of your dog!! I am so happy I found Hounds Town for my little Violet. She is so happy when she’s there and has gotten out of her shell so much more has time gone on. She has her own little trio and the staff there are AMAZING. They are very understanding and eased my anxieties when I first put Violet in day care. Every time I bring my dog “Peace” to HoundsTown, he is so excited. He knows where he’s going the moment we turn the corner onto the street. As soon as I walk in, he is so happy to see all the people that work there and is ready for me to leave him so he can play! The first time I brought him here, HoundsTown encouraged me to let him stay for a day of daycare before I boarded him overnight and they were very helpful and called me to let me know how he was doing. He spent four nights there when I left to go out of town and now he goes there for Doggy Daycare at least one day a week. This place is absolutely wonderful and I highly recommend it for both daycare and boarding! Hounds town has been a pleasure to work with. The staff are all super friendly and Kumo absolutely loves going there. They don’t call it the hounds town hangover for no reason because he always comes home all played out!
