This was great to stop by occasionally until a local busybody started ruining it. Avoid. Not even Brookline is this insane about enforcing dog permitting stuff! This ranger guy has too much time on his hands.

Beautiful. Great hiking & BEAUTIFUL DAM POOL BEACH. Very nice! Perfect for a walk or a date or a nice day by the water even!

Good dog park. Large fenced in area as well as a smaller fenced area for dogs who don't want to be in a big space

Favorite dog park. Muddy as hell, friendly people. People usually wear masks. All dogs are well trained and play very nicely in my experience!

A big fenced in dog park with a playground, but it does get very muddy. GPS might or might not take you to an entrance.

Great, well-frequented local spot for off-leash dog activities. Well maintained and safe for almost any dog and dog lover.

it is a very large area and a great place for dogs. however, you need to pay that Newton city requires dog owners for using it.

Fields could use some keeping up, and it isn't very level. Dog park area is fantastic and all fenced in. Update: With the new larger fences in area for dogs, it keeps the people area much nicer.

Great dog park. Two fenced in areas. Plenty of parking. Almost always dogs there. Never have seen people there without dogs though, i.e. no small children or rec leagues.

Impressed! I have been checking out as many places as I can since I just moved to Massachusetts. This has to be the nicest fully fenced in dog park that I’ve seen so far. Pro: clean, fully fenced, taken care of, many dogs Con: I definitely got lost trying to find the dog park because the GPS took me to a dead end street so just keep that in mind if you’re coming here with a GPS location. There’s actual parking right next to the dog park so look for that entrance instead of the other entrance.

A nice big open dog park, with a smaller fenced in park inside. The entire area is fenced in, though there's woodsy trees covering half of it. It's entirely fenced in all the way around, but I've had to chase my dog around through those woods a few times to get her to come home. The big park is at least the size of a football field, if not twice as large. Gets super muddy in any kind of rain.

Amazing park to let the dogs run and play in . Not a ton of shade ,but some. Has grass . No water source there so bring your own water . Restrooms None Dog-friendliness All dogs got along well .

Would be a great place for dogs to run off leash if you didn't need to pay $70 (as a Newton res) or $100 non-resident. Pretty pricey for a fenced dirt patch. Grossly maintained, no water for dogs, dog poop everywhere. I wonder what the fee is going towards? Park ranger is there everyday to enforce the tags. Beware the parking lot is in Brighton but the actual park is in Newton.

Okay park. The actual enclosed area is quite small. The ranger is always there to enforce that each dog has an “off leash newton permit.” The fee yearly for this is $70. Which is insane! Especially during the pandemic, and the town continues to increase their permit prices. On top of the original dog license you need for the town. Anyways, the ranger kicked us out until I applied for the permit. He stated this “park is the best in New England.” Which is completely disagree, the park itself is small, bumpy/dirty parking area and no water for the dogs!!

This was always a favorite dog park for us when we lived in Boston and it has been improved. Now there are separate areas for dogs and people which I expect makes everyone happier overall. I was surprised to see a City of Newton official at the gate when we arrived. Perhaps checking for license tags? We were dogless on this particular trip so don't know. But I would caution regular users to get a tag as there may be some enforcement. Dog-friendliness Big fully fenced in field that even your greyhound could stretch out in. Separate small dog area.

A pretty setting which is easy to find although parking seemed limited. We arrived early in the morning so parking was easy. The off leash area is actually a small wood-barked enclosure however before 9am the dogs were using the larger grassed area. This is a fully fenced area and in great condition. The ranger arrived promptly at 9am so the few people there leashed up their dogs and left. Apparently the ranger checks if you are a local resident or not. It wasn’t crowded and the people there were friendly. Poop bags are available at the entry.

Great dog park, typically very busy with professional doggy daycare dogs. Have driven up at times when 20-30 dogs there. I have a dog that gets overwhelmed by that many other canines so not the best place for us but it is pretty big, and facilities are nice with toys, and dog water available.

There's two areas within the park. The off-leash area has plenty of space for dogs to run around and same some balls or each other. The on-leash area is much bigger with lots of grass and trees around it. It can take up to 10 mins to walk around the perimeter of it.

READ the website This is a park shared by park goers and sports enthusiasts alike. You also need a medallion to use the park. I should have investigated it more, but if you're like me, the crotchety old park security guy will yell at you, then you can just pack up your pups and come to the Fillipello Dog Park....which is ACTUALLY a dog park.

Its a good size area, fully fenced in. Good for pups. Sometimes someone from the town comes by and you can be fined $50 if you don't have specific dog park tags. Hasn't happened to me yet, but other people have said it has to them.
