Perfect xc course .

When we began walking at John Hunt Park a few years ago it promised to be the best place in town to walk in terms of convenience and amenities. The rubberized asphalt walking track is much kinder to feet with many miles on them than are the regular roads. The landscape is lovely, giving clear evidence of having been designed. In theory, one does not have to contend with pets or fast moving bicycles as is the case on the greenways. And, there is a bathroom with running water, climate control, and even soap. On the other hand, a few people have not got the memo that pet dogs are not allowed at John Hunt Park. Watch your step, but on summer mornings watch the horizon as well. Walking in the early morning hours during warm season grass growing time puts one at risk of being present when the grounds maintenance people are spraying. Finally, be aware that occasionally enthusiastic bicyclists are riding on the aforementioned asphalt walking path. The path simply isn't wide enough for fast moving bicycles and people walking, some of the latter of whom are pushing strollers.

Great location. Close to lodging and restaurants. Path to walk.

Fantastic place to stay. And Commissary and Bx are an easy mile walk.

Walking here is very relaxing the open green area is beautiful well maintained and the open volleyball courts are a nice touch as well. It’s my favorite place for a an outdoor picnic

The trail is ever so lovely. I used to do spring fever and autumn chase runs here in elementary school. It would be nice however if people would not bring there dogs as rules sign says. The trail had dog poop on it this morning. And the lady walking her dog could cared less. Why can't we have nice things?

We had an enjoyable time at the Sand John Hunt Volleyball area. We had space and options when it came to volleyball locations.it was clean, comfort, the facilities looked well cared for. The weather was just right for the activity, highly recommended.

The mountain bike course is not well-maintained, which is too bad, because it was originally well-built and a cool concept. They City of Huntsville needs to make sure that this course maintenance gets included in their budgeting - you can't just build it and then let it rot. ...and the part of it that's up against the big hill smells like a landfill, because that's what's right there.

Great park you can see so much of the run. The 5k is great! Slow incline well kept

It wasn't very good. I hate soccer. It was also very hot, which they couldn't really help. But there's dirt over everything and roaches crawling around and on the bathrooms and water fountains. (It was a pretty good looking area though)

My son has run at New Balance Running Lane for the past two years. He stepped in a hole last year and was knocked out of the race. This season he came back and won his division. Great course!

Stunning park and the best XC race I've been to! They step it up for these athletes and make them feel like they're on ESPN! GREAT job, Randolph Invitational!!

Great facilities for the sectional HS Cross Country meet. Always have a good experience here.

World class cross country course. Also a rubberized path approx 2 miles long. Dogs not allowed in park.

It is a great park to take your kids for outdoor fun especially if you need to help the lil ones burn energy for naps or bed time. Great place for a nice walk run and workout. Also a nice place to picnic too.

This is an absolutely beautiful park. The walking trail is very comfortable on your feet because it appears to be paved with recycled tires

Perfectly maintained cross country course. Well marked for each K. Fast course with some light rolling hills and flat, straight finish. And no, it’s not a short course!
