Today we are weathering out the ice storm here in S. Charleston. I am posting this here to thank the Joplin park maintenance folks for removing the tree limbs that caused the last power outage. All my friends and family are out of power and we are still good so far.

Good size park, my kids love going here because there's plenty of space to run and play. It's good to have the option to bring our dog since they have a dog area. They also have a large loop around the park that you can walk or ride a bike and it has exercise stations all the way around it. The park also has a swings, a playground, and see saws, a basketball court and tennis court, shelters with grills, and bathrooms. The only downside is when people go there and tear up signs or break equipment and it sometimes takes longer than you'd expect for it to be fixed. It is however a park I would recommend.

Large park with playground, tennis courts, basketball courts, walking/running paved track, large grassy field and a fenced in dog park. My only complaint is that there isn't a water source at the dog park

This park offers convenient parking. The facilities include 2 tennis courts, 2 basketball courts, swing sets, a dog park, three covered shelters with picnic tables and several shaded areas to enjoy a summer day. The park is well maintained and clean, although the bathrooms are what you can expect. All in all this is a wonderful park to bring your family and children of different age groups will have things to do.

Nice park to have a unplanned outing when the kids need to get out and run! You can also throw some burgers and hot dogs on a grill there and have dinner or lunch at the same time. I would give 5 stars if the bathrooms weren't locked every time we visit.

I went to this park as a child. Two decades later, I visited the park with my own children. It is well maintained. The basketball courts were in good repair. I liked the addition of the dog park. We enjoyed using the exercise stations and playground equipment.

Overall a great place to stop by with the family. Park is well maintained and it has everything you need to have a good day there. They also have basketball courts and pickle ball. Playground Yes, along with swings Restrooms Yes Dog-friendliness Dog park located near the back, and a nice trail to walk them on. Picnic area There are a few picnic areas with grills. They are covered.

I've went to this park since I was a small child. My kids love to take their scooters or bikes here. There's a nice paved walkway around the perimeter for you to walk on with exercise equipment every so many feet. There's a really nice dog park so your furry friends can socialize as well. Our dogs love it! They also have plastic bags to clean up after your dogs so it can be disposed of. There's a nice parking lot, swings, picnic tables, trash cans all around the park, tennis and basketball courts, playground, teeter totters, a huge field and restrooms. Our family loves having picnics and getting into a friendly family game of ball here! I recommend this park to anyone.

Very large car with lots of room and lots of families. They're clean yesterday. Very windy. It had nice shelters for picnicking. Playground Very large Restrooms Cleaning them some restrooms. And would be much cleaner of people to pick up the wrong trash and throw it in the trash can. Dog-friendliness I saw people walking dogs on leashes. Picnic area I only saw two shelters with picnic tables but we were able to use one. .

My boyfriend and I took my daughter and our dog here and we had such a nice time! This park is clean with waste receptacles. There IS a dog park, but if you use the Google maps directions it will take you to the wrong place. Just Google Joplin park and it should get you there! The dog park has water and trash bags provided. Well be going back!

Small off lease dog park here and lots of dogs, nice place but over crowded.

Beautiful area. Nice playground for the kids and a nice walking path for everyone. Pretty and quiet. A nice place for a future picnic.

Very nice park including a nice dog park. Swings and play center. Nice paved path for people to take walks and run on without worrying about traffic.

Tiny, all the dogs just guarding the fence against the walking path since you couldn't get more than 30 feet from it. Giant wood chips, my dog didn't even want to run. Also an inordinate amount of trash for such a tiny place. You'd think since there's nothing else to do the patrons might see it and pick up a bit- no worries, the tourists picked up for you.✌

A simple, but nice place to walk around at. Has a little doggie park and play areas for kids.

Just recently found this treasure... Great place for my dog to run safely and it's clean also my 2 sons get a good workout on the walking trail part! Many spots to stop and work all of your body! I also think there is a tennis and basketball court. We just haven't used them because it's to cold.

It's a nice place to walk and take your dogs. The only issue is there's a guy for the past month that sits in the dog park with a dog that's a bully to other dogs for hours it seems each day with multiple people not taking their dogs inside because of him. Might be best to go to little creek dog park instead of here if that's your only goal to avoid him. Update: guy is still coming here months later. For sure go to little creek dog park if that's what you're after.

The dog park is clean & secure-the whole park is clean even though my Mich is afraid of her fellow furballs. Great 4 doing laps, jogging or walking. Mich is tired after our adventure. Bathrooms? Yes! Convenient for the small-bladdered peeps (me). I felt safe. Wish there were some trails, though. Dog-friendliness My pup us worn out after each trip!
