I took my two basset hounds to the free day to try out the park. Yes it is a paid membership but they offer a free day the first Monday of every month. I don't mind paying b/c it keeps the premises maintained and I know my boys will be around other responsible dog owners. The people I met were super kind and welcoming. I understand people being annoyed with a membership model but there are other free parks in the area, and they're not as well maintained.

Newly built dog park on the state hospital grounds. Grounds have been maintained and nice structure.

I love how nice this private dog park is and it's even a nonprofit which makes it even better. My dog loves the space and the socialization he gets. (They are open from dawn to dusk.)

Frustrating that you would build a card only access dog park in the middle of a disc golf course. How are people supposed to retrieve their discs if they go in there?

Googled free dog parks and drove across town to take my dog there but failed to read the reviews first. This is NOT a free dog park. It’s a “members only” dog park, lol. I was still willing to join and pay, instead of leaving, but it takes 3 days to get your membership approved. Disappointing all around. Also, there’s no grass only Astro turf. Try picking up poo in that! Yuck!

Listed on Google as a free dog park and drove all the way out to it to see a locked dog park that is for members only and approval takes 3 to 4 days. After I walked away I watched people walk up and walk away back to back for the next 30 mins. Not one person who wanted to use this dog park could assess it.

Who has ever heard of a dog park that requires a membership? A membership-only dog park that, mind you, consists of two fenced-in bare patches of grass. What a greedy joke. Don’t go here unless you just like to sort of look at dog parks while you wait for 3 days for your membership to activate.

As dog parks are the fastest growing community assets in the US, I am thrilled that Evansville and the tri-state have this wonderful space for our pups to run free! Yes, there is a membership requirement - and that means that you know every other dog your pup comes in contact with is current with vaccinations, it means that that park is kept clean and orderly, and above all, it means you and your dog are in a safe space. The park receives no public funding and is maintained by memberships and sponsorships.

Don't listen to negative reviews. Especially by someone that has only left three reviews EVER and all 3 are negative. That should tell you something. This park in not funded by the city. It's funded by memberships. Who does he expect to pay for maintenance and insurance? I am thrilled to have a place to take my dog to run and socialize.

NOT FREE! Requires paid membership despite also advertising corporate sponsorship.
