Nice play place for young kids

The park is nice. There's a decent playground and there are enough benches surrounding the playground so you can easily watch the little ones. The park also has a large grass area to have a picnic or run and play. Not a hilly park which is great to run around. The only problem is that there are no restrooms here. When the kids start to play, 10 minutes later someone has to go to the restroom. Other then that, the area is nice with shopping nearby in case you get an itch in the wallet.

A very nice and modern playground. Our 14-month old granddaughter had a great time just watching older kids playing and trying some of the smaller sets herself. Playground A good varieties of playthings, but a couple can get a bit dangerous for the younger crowds when the older kids trying to move them too fast. Restrooms None Dog-friendliness Yes Picnic area None

Great park; the best option nearby (I’m not even aware of any similar ones within 1 mile). Can be crowded depending on what’s your tolerance for crowd

What a great little oasis in the heart of the city. This park gets a little busy, but it’s also great because your kids always have plenty of caring parents around should they take a spill or need something. Come to the park for a couple hours, and swing through Ala Moana before heading home to pick up a great lunch.

We used the park everyday we were in Honolulu. The dog loved it and it was a great location!

Great park for kids to meet and play with other kids! Multiple nationalities, multiple languages, but my child still figured out how to make friends and play with kids his age! It was an amazing experience to see them interact. No gate, open area. The only thing I did not like is people bringing their dogs to this kid play area! The doh park is across the street! But all in all we both had a great time!!

Most relaxing and breezy park in the Ward Village area ever! Also really cool just to sit on the benches and watch the kids monkeying around on the jungle gym. Me included!

Kolowalu Park is a peaceful neighborhood park with open green spaces and a playground. Great for families, quiet walks, and casual outdoor gatherings in a relaxing setting.

Nice and kind of quiet. Rather clean but not good place after 6pm.

This is one of the clean parks in town with fun children playground equipment. People generally is gentle and sweet when bring child/children here. Lots of space to run. around, close to big shopping mall and parking is usually great. One down side, no where to hide if it rains, and if it's a windy day, its EXTRA windy here because of all the high rise buildings around the park.

Pretty safe and clean park. Kakaako keeps this park from homeless well but needed more frequent lawn mowing +It used to be clean and quiet community park despite there is a playground in the center. People used to respect one another's personal spaces and there was unseen order. However there has been increasing of inconsiderate selfish dog owners take over the park although there is a sign of rule to leash the dog. I feel bad for children, adults and other leashing dog owners they have equal right to enjoy the park.

Wow talk about upgrades from the parks renovation. This park is awesome,, ...best on the state, definitely takes some notes from mainland parks. The playground area rope/bridge area, standard climb and play area, a swing, merry go round, and even a glove with rotating handle the plays music. They also added tables and a small work out area. If you haven't been here in sometime, bring your kids, they love it. This place does get PACKED, and even late into the night haha. Just as an example, it's a Saturday afternoon and there are some 25+ kids and almost equal 20+ parents here at the moment. What other just "park" with no event do you see that kind of crowd haha.

Nice little park in the middle of the city. Great escape for kids 6 and under.

Beautiful park. Nice open grassy field for kids to run and play with an adequate jungle gym.

Gets really crowded but still lots of fun. There’s plenty of space to sit down with a blanket and watch the kids. The equipment is nice and fun for all kids.

Been coming here for years. Love the family atmosphere and the mix of jungle gym and large grassy area play spaces! Kids here tend to be very happy, playful and moderate in terms of roughness. They are also on the younger end of the age range - toddler to 8 years. There is a short walking path encircling the park that is perfect for bicycling or skating for the little ones. No restrooms though. There are the Ward shops close by for food, supplies, etc.

I noticed this quaint park as I was enjoying some ice cream outside of the South Shore Market which is just across the street. Located at the corner of Queen & Waimanu Streets, the tiny sliver of greenery is towered-over by the gleaming Ko'olani Condos on one side. It looked fairly new as the trees weren't very tall or bushy, so shade is at a premium. The grass was well-maintained and fairly weed-free. There are no comfort facilities, just a few benches and a jungle gym for the kiddos. A Biki bike station is located here too. OVERALL: Probably used mostly by area residents as no dedicated parking was available.

Cute little Park located right on Queen Street, across from the TJ Maxx side of Ward Centers. No bathroom facilities on site, but you can always walk across the street to the ward area. Clean, well used, well-loved park by the families in the area. You'll often find younger kids there and the parents typically are very conscientious about being with their kids and interacting. We love that. Great for interaction and playing with other children. You won't find a lot of rough housing or disrespect here, and we love that too. There is no fencing, and it is located on Queen Street, so be prepared to keep a close eye. However, there is a lot of green space surrounding the little play area, and benches, so there is tons of room. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are of course welcome. We have never seen anyone leave dog messes at this Park, which is wonderful. Park on-street, or there is the ward complex across the street to, if you're going to shop. You can always bring a picnic lunch, or grab something across the street at the Holo Holo Market. Reasonable prices, poke bowls from FoodLand made on site, and Musubi ready to go. There's even a refrigerated area for those of you who would like salads or sandwiches that require refrigeration. Drinks are a little more expensive, but reasonable for the area. After the playground, you can also visit the same area right across the street to visit the very clean restrooms and stop for ice cream at Lucy's lab. We often make a day of it. Once you're parked, hey, you're parked!
