Friendly. A little off the beaten path, so it's mostly locals. I like that my big puppy and my small older dog can play in the same space. If your dog likes to eat small dogs, please use the other dog park at Crown Beach/Washington Park.

This is a huge dog park. I found it odd that not a lot of people were there at the dog park considering it has all the signs of a great dog park : its clean, double fenced, has water and water bowls, lot of parking, a bench for dog owners to sit on and plenty of space for dogs to run around. Not sure if many dog owners know of this place. Wish it had a name.

Very muddy with large puddles, but break more grass than other parks. Don't be surprised if there's no parking during the week as the ferry parking seems to have taken up all the dog park parking. It's an ok park, I just wish there was more space, more grass they'd fill in the puddles, and plant some trees.

Not the smallest but definitely not big and it being tucked away means it's less popular than the other dog park. Only one big area, no small dog section. You can park by the ferry parking lot or right off the street which is gravel.

My dog loves this place we go nearly daily for the past 2 years. Lots of space to run, mellow dogs and owners. I just wish that an on-site dog water fountain could be installed so we could stop lugging jugs back and forth.

This is a fenced in outdoor park about the size of 3 football fields in length and 1 wide. There are seats and picnic tables scattered about and one set of chairs underneath a shade tree. The park is mostly grassy with a sandy streak in the middle area. It's defently one of my favorite dog parks on sunny days. Would 100% recommend to any one who loves being outside with their dog while looking look at the river and inlet and watching insanely HUGE shipping container freightors, get loaded up with huge chains. It's just a cool park all the way around. 😎😎 Dog-friendliness All the dogs at this park are normally very friendly but if there is an issue for any reason all you have to do is walk your dog to the other side of the park and problem solved. 9/10 for pet friendliness.

This is a nice large dog park. The park is for large dogs and there is no small dog section. There is a mix of grass and dirt. It is generally clean. It can be windy and colder than the rest of the area, especially toward sunset

Great big, huge park! We generally take our pup here in the evening and let him run his heart out. He loves to play with other dogs but honestly just loves to large ooen space to roam, run and play. With the view of lights of the bay bridge and SF skyline it's almost magical. Only down side would be the size. If your dog isn't obedient to voice commands then beware that this may not be the park for you as there's a lot of ground to cover is something breaks off with another dog(s).

Needs a water source, people who bring there pets here usually bring a gallon or two but the city should install at least a water source. Also limited shade. But you can be attentive to your dogs here as you can view the whole park from anywhere with the gates.

My dog and I really like this park, plenty of space. It is not usually very busy. Lots of easy parking. It is mostly grass. Has a couple small shady places. The view is very nice! There are 2 picnic tables and several chairs. The only negative is that there is NO WATER SOURCE, so you must bring water and a bowl with you. There are big empty jugs that the community refills but those are often empty. I rarely see balls laying around so I always bring our own. Dog-friendliness Totally! Picnic area Yes, but there are dogs around

I love this dog park. I bring my dog here almost every day to play fetch. It's a huge open area, not separated into big/small dog sections. Its never really been super crowded when I go and I like that people tend to stick with their dogs here and keep an eye on them. So far everyone has been friendly and the dogs have been well behaved. Some dog parks can get pretty cliquey but even though I've seen many of the same people here a number of times, everyone is pretty friendly. You cant beat the views here either. Downside is that there is no running water so people have to bring water jugs and also there is not much shade...ground is mostly dirt which can get messy too

I could rate this park 5 stars and 1 star at the same time, so I've settled in the middle. 5 Stars - Location: right off the water, amazing view of shipping containers. - It's a huge space with tons of room for dogs to run freely. - Tons of parking, both in the lot and on the street. - Super friendly neighbors who are regulars. - All dogs share the same area (I happen to love big and small dogs together, but I know many don't). 1 Star - Dry thistles and foxtails *everywhere* make this an unsafe park for my pooches. Took well over an hour to get all the thistles and foxtails from my two dogs (both have thick fur). This may not be as much of an issue for shorthair dogs, but foxtails can be super dangerous to all dogs if accidentally snorted into nose. - Very little shade - we found shelter under one small tree, but mostly this is just a wide-open space with no shade. - No grass, very dusty and dirty. Would I go back again, not likely. But I think this is a great location, and for dogs who love and need to run off leash, it's worth the hassles.

A little far out there, but a great weekend spot to let a big dog run wild. Our friendly giant mastiff had a ball. There were only a couple other pups around, but all friendly. In N Out is nearby also to get a pup patty. We’ll be back.

This is our go to Alameda dog park. Most dog owners are attentive to their dogs and friendly. When we go, I don't see the dog walkers coming in with multiple dogs, such as Washington Park. I respect dog walkers, but have seen some that have too many dogs and cannot watch them all properly.

I would give this dog park a 5, when they block off a area for small dogs weight 7 lbs to 13 lbs. Please consider!

I live in a neighboring City but I always bring my dog to this dog park. Spacious other dog owners are friendly. Always have a good view of my dog. No matter where I am, she always has such a great time by far my favorite dog park in the area.

This is my favorite dog park. Huge open fences in area and it's on the other side of the water way and harbor where giant ships are loaded and unloaded with boxed containers. I love how it's clean and there is a lot of room to play fetch and ball games with your dog. Usually less than a handful of dogs and their parents. Dog-friendliness There are bottles of water and if u come frequently please bring a gallon milk jug of water to help with keeping water accessible. Great parky dog loves itπŸ™ Picnic area There are a few picnic tables and even a table under a tree to sit and cool off after throwing the ball with ur dog.

It's a good part. At night time you can see the San Francisco bridge, The tall buildings in downtown Oakland also the Port. The main downside is that there's not a water fountain for dogs you either have to bring your own or rely on other people I'm bringing containers of water to share with dogs
