Moncus Park

BEST park we have ever been to, hands down! We were visiting from South Mississippi and it was a wonderful treat to find for the kids! beautiful park. Playground GREAT playground/ play area!!! even a dog park i believe. they also had a splash pad there for the kids! Restrooms clean, big restroom Dog-friendliness very dog friendly!!! What a busy beautiful park. I was there during the Farmers Market on Saturday and went looking around. There's a dog park, a fun splash park, a giant tree house/play area for kids. There were so many families enjoying the park. What a great community space. Also, a really nice war memorial with pillars explaining each of the wars. Even a few times out of the year show movies at sundown. So happy they didn't develop the area. Thanks to hard work saving the area as a community space and to generous donors. 0:15

While parking is a work in progress so far I have never had an issue. I enjoy visiting for walks. The splash pad area gets busy but the further back you go it is quite peaceful.

Such a wonderful park. I always enjoy my time there. There is a little of something for everyone. Great playground area with the splash pad included, tree house, paved trails, dog park, and Saturday Farmer's Market, etc. By far, my favorite is Lake Reaux, which sits in the middle of the park. It has a variety of plant and animal wildlife to view. There is a ton of space around the lake for fishing and lounging. In addition, there are plenty of activities that take place throughout the year. I am a huge fan of Yoga in the Park and I love the fact that they have dedicated time and space for health and wellness activities. Such an awesome place.

We haven’t lived in Lafayette long but happened upon Moncus Saturday, and let me just say I wish we had found it sooner ! We had our grand daughter with us and even tho we were only there a couple of hours , we still didn’t get to see everything. It is an absolutely stunning place to visit. Super dog friendly and had so much for kids to do. Splash pad, massive tree house and much more. Absolutely a place to fall in love with, a must visit. If you are there in Lafayette for some days, I recommend you to come here daily. Lovely landscape and a lots of activities for kids. Especially the fountain. The place has a lot of positive energy.. Moncus Park was a perfect hour-long pitstop on our road trip. We noticed its beauty on our way to Judice Inn and decided to stop. We’re so glad we did! The park features two dog parks, making it great for pet owners. The playground and facilities are well-maintained and very clean, and the kids loved the splash pad, which was perfect for the summer heat. It's one of the most beautiful parks we've visited, though more shaded areas would be a welcome addition. Great park in Lafayette! We went on the weekend when they had a market happening up the hill so it made for a more enjoyable day. There is a small water park, a treehouse with lots of shaded areas, a good amount of activities in the park, snocones, a vending machine, hiking trails, and more. I played around in the water display cause it was so hot and then went to relax in the treehouse area. There’s also a dog area for them to run around. One thing I do think it needs is some kind of shaded area at the water section for the parents that want to sit and watch their kids. Hopefully they’ll have some next time we go back! Absolutely amazing park, big hill to run up and down all day, forest area, splash pad, playground, dog park, and so much more. This park is one of my favorite parks in all of Louisiana, it's just a staple of southern Louisiana's culture, and it's not just because of the spectacular festivals. I go to this park a whole lot, and I enjoy every second of it anytime I go here. There are countless trails around the park, through the beautiful forest area, and around the playground area. There are many benches and picnic areas to snack on food around the park and also to take a rest from walking. The park is nestled right next to a water passage, which is beautiful to watch during sunsets. The last time I went here was with my two buddies and we went into the forest and we found a cool graffitied pipeway that was next to the waterway I snapped a photo of it and it looks beautiful. The ponds are taken care of very well and there are also ducks in the pond. I am unable to say how much I appreciate this park, truly a staple of Louisiana. Playground Great playground next to a splash park that has swings, slides, monkey bars, and more. Restrooms Many restrooms are placed in convenient areas around the park and near the playgrounds. Dog-friendliness Dog park in the front area of the park and you are allowed to bring pets of all sorts to walk with you. Picnic area Many benches and picnic tables to eat on that are surprisingly clean.

This is a beautiful Park and we went there for the farmers market. I thought there were a lot of different kinds of baked goods, cuisines, And handcrafted products. There was a great variety of everything and best of all, the people that we spoke with were very knowledgeable about their products. It made for a beautiful morning and apparently the farmers market is up and every Saturday from 8:00 a.m. To noon, rain or shine. The entire park was impressive. It was extremely clean and obviously very well manicured and cared for. It had a gorgeous large dog park and it looks like everything is in very good working order. The walking trails around the park were enjoyable. They will be more enjoyable when the tree canopy grows in a little bit more and offer some shade. The wooden trail on the far side was a bit confusing and we ended up walking along the coulee for most of it, I think we must’ve missed a turn. We enjoyed the native Prairie planting on one end and the Native Plants in the lagoon. From the parking lot, it was a little hard to understand where the walking paths were. Maybe we missed some directional signage?

This is one of our favorite places to go in Lafayette!! Our whole family loves to go on nature walks, attend the community events, play on the solash pad and the extensive playground, plus the treehouse is humongous for all ages!!

Really big, nice, open, green place with rolling hills and plenty of shady places and places to sit and.....look, it's great. Just go. Especially if you have kids.

A place like Moncus was sorely needed by the community. It's the kind of place that keeps people healthy by providing excellent trails, provides great educational events for kids, as well as keeps families in Louisiana instead of moving elsewhere. I cannot speak highly enough of this park, you have to see it to believe it!

I'm visiting for work and this was a very nice place to take a walk. It was very clean, beautiful, and felt very safe. Lots of other people enjoying the park too. Wish my city had a park like this!

Photos really don't do this park justice! What a lovely, unexpected oasis in Lafayette LA. The level of detail and intracate planning make this place seem less like a plot of land, and more like a labor of love. This kind of park punches WAY above its weight: I was not expecting this in (sorry guys) a pretty small town. How lucky are the people and children of Lafayette LA to be able to have this. Almost every adult reminisces about their childhood little park, but it can look disappointing when you return years later. Not this! This is some Hobbit level relaxation. Bravo! This is such an amazing park, it is so clean and beautiful. I love bringing my dogs here because it is so dog friendly. I have a rescue dog that is not too great with other dogs, but she always has a great time because there's so much space everywhere. The water fountains even have a bowl for dogs, which is such a great idea and helps a lot. It can get crowded on Saturdays because everyone comes for the Farmers Market and stays for the park, but that just proves what a great atmosphere this is. The parking spots go quick, so keep that in mind if you're planning on going on a Saturday. It's amazing. WOW, just WOW. What an incredible park! I can't believe all the amazing things here! So many fun things to do at this park, and this is just phase 1.more to come. There is perfect size every thing for kids include: monkey bars, swings, slides, playground, and so much more. Just take a look at my videos! Bathrooms are right next to the park and are Super nice! This place even has a huge tree house that the kids can play in. The only downside is that you have to pay to park! But is cheap and all the money goes to pay for the next phase of the park! I never miss our local farmers market on Saturday mornings 8-12 if I’m in town! The park is clean and is a full mile lap if you take the outer trail, but also has the option to go in the back through the woods. In the Spring, the wildflower preserve blooms and is absolutely stunning! Beautiful park with excellent landscaping. They did a great job creating a space for everyone. There is a large playground for kids, some nice elevation change with some hills, and a really cool water feature with the pond. Looking forward to further development of this park.
