What a beautiful space! Our puppy is not very social with other dogs or people, but she has enjoyed the freedom (and toys) the dog park has to offer. When we usually go, there are only a couple people there, which is good for our puppy. There are times that are busier, which we try to avoid, but would be great for other doggies to socialize. The gate system is very easy and functional to use. There are two areas for dogs thirty pounds or less, and dogs thirty pounds or more, but they are next to each other with a fence in between. There is also a nice pond for the dogs to swim and play in. If you don't want your dog to swim, they have a gate so he/she won't go in. They also have a kiddle pool with a hose for a rinse on a hot day, or a rinse after he/she comes out of the pond. There are toys and water bowls avalible as well. We don't use the agility course, but there is a very nice one available. We love coming to the New Albany dog park! ❤️🐶

Looks like a nice park....but, unfortunately I didn't look at the sad review about membership. If ya'll ever venture to northern WI.....stop in....dog park in Rhinelander is awesome......and, best I have seen, ALL our dog parks are visitor friendly. We welcome your road weary dogs.....not flip them a paw.

Looks like a really nice dog park, but it requires a membership and for your dog to be registered in New Albany if you live in the county outside the city. Not worth the price if youre not going to visit regularly.

Members only but don't advertise this. Also has a bizarre/paranoid sign about how you are being recorded, in a dog park. Weird

Worst bang for your buck in the Louisville area... $45 to listen to someone speak rules at you for 30 minutes before you can go to a park that feels like a demo room at a leasing office... Beautiful and unused. Out of the way of everything, long walk to just enter, no shade, no attendance from members. I've been at all types of times of day and at best you get two-three other dog owners around in the best weather, if they don't leave immediately because I guess they wanted the park to themselves. I guess it's good for anti social dog owners who don't want their dog to play with other dogs. Louisville dog parks are same price for 5+ more better parks with better participation. I would never come here if it wasn't so close to home and I didn't already pay for it. Not renewing...

This is a Floyd County treasure. Admittedly, it is somewhat of a hassle to become a member. A member must first get a county dog license. This is done with a form, proof of rabies, and proof of spay/neuter and microchip number for a life license. Since our microchip number was not registering, this took two trips and an additional fee to the chip company, Avid. Then you had to make an appointment with the Parks and Recreation Department at a different facility. At the appointment, you had to have a 30 minute in service on the rules, fill out forms, and pay the fees for each dog. We chose life licenses for both. So the fees were $105. for the first dog for life. It is a little less for each additional dog. Once those hoops were jumped, we have a glorious place to allow our dogs to swim and romp. It is a huge, very secure facility. There are water bowls, a water source, a pond for swimming, poop bags, and receptacles provided. It is an age 13 and over facility. So it is less worrisome to allow dogs off leashes, as small children are not there to make skittish dog owners worry. Our family uses the park several times a week.

Nice looking, well kept, large dog park. Requires MEMBERSHIP to enter. Just visiting the area so no access for us. Walked around the 1/4 mile track outside the dog park

The park itself is pretty, but Google fails to mention the actual dog park is members only. We wouldn't have driven over twenty minutes had we known that. We're from out of town, so doesn't make sense for us to get a membership. Could be more signage and advertisement that this is a members only park.

So frustrating to go to a park that is called New Albany Dog Park on line, just to get there to find a members only (meaning we can't go in) park. It was EMPTY and we were locked out. Its NOT A CITY PARK!!! DONT BOTHER SUPPORTING THIS PARK ITS NOT FOR EVERYONE. My daughter always questions our society because we charge for nature. Its a fence around a plot of grass people.

You need a membership to use this park. Thar said, It's quiet and well maintained. There is actually grass instead of gravel like many parks I've seen. Worth the money

The dog park is so fun and amazing! I have two chihuahua pups that are needing socialization and this was prefect! It's clean and very spacious. I'm very thankful we have the park in New Albany!

Nice dog park but they seem to forget it’s for the dogs . They close it whenever it rains or gets warm enough for the snow to melt because they don’t want the dogs to “ruin” the grass. Imagine the disappointment when you finally have a warmup late winter/early spring only to see a blockade and a sign saying it’s closed for that reason and don’t even try to go around it because the rangers for that pro are always driving around . Guess they expect everyone to walk their dog on a trail where others are off leash

Been a member for a couple of weeks now. So far it was well worth all the effort to become a member. I actually like the idea that in order to become a member you have to have a license for your dogs with proof of all of their vaccinations. And membership is only good for one year at a time. And there are plenty of cameras too. Good job New Albany for creating this space with restrictions

I love this park so much! It's always clean, people are always so polite and the dogs love it. They have 3 sections. One for dogs 31 lbs and under. One for 31 lbs and above. Larger Dogs are not allowed in the small dog area, but small dogs are allowed in the large dog area. They also have an agility course and a spot for larger dogs to swim in the pond. They have a hiking trail connected and a walking path all the way around the dog park. Very fun and family oriented place to take your pup.

Looked great, but a private dog park? I don't live here but I worked here and paid my fair share of taxes to this community. Im very disappointed in this whole ordeal. Google didn't say it was private either so I drove over here for nothing

Amazing and friendly group of dogs and their humans. Lots of room to run. we just recently moved to new Albany and have only been coming to the park for about a month. Not a single issue

Personally I think it’s bullshit it’s not advertised anywhere online that it’s a members only dog park. You shouldn’t need to drive there to find it out. Owner is aware of this. They need to figure it out and post it somewhere. Making a website isn’t hard. Bad ownership in my opinion.

People do not pick up after their dogs in spite of conveniently located stations! Children of all ages play soccer on the field, and adults come to watch. It is disgusting and unhealthy. There's no walking around the piles because they are everywhere. On rainy days, it is very evident how much dog poop is in every square foot of grass. I made a point of reading the park rules to be sure dog owners are supposed to clean up after their dogs, and not soccer players and spectators beware. People who do not clean up after their pets should not have them. Big mistake to put dog park and soccer fields in the same grassy field!!
