I was a little nervous brining my dog here (pretty young/small Italian Greyhound) but it turned out great. All the other dogs we met were friendly and the park is a decent size. There’s no water fountain and it gets pretty muddy after rain but overall a good experience!

Great park for locals who live close and want a little place for their dogs to get some energy out with other pups. There are no extra amenities including water which is why it's best suited for locals who live within a few minutes.

I came after a Morning Rain worried it was going to be too muddy. It wasn't! I am newer to the area and my apartment complex has a very small dog run. So my girl enjoyed being able to get her Zumiez out. I like that there is tree cover

Good place to stop for your dogs, but wouldn’t recommend staying long due to it being wood chips instead of grass. Also few mosquitoes. Dog-friendliness Doggie bags, dog water bowls in area

King loves a good dog park! First of all, this place is across from Harris Teeter. We now know what to do while my wife is shopping. YAY! Although there were not many other dogs here, the park was spacious and fun. The mulch was sandy soft. Good thing it hadn't rained. Overall. King and I rate NH a solid 4 out of 5. Dog-friendliness King met 2 dogs this day. One small, who was, well... a small dog. Just like any other. Then a big dog came in. More of King’s speed. Friendly, fast, and furry. They hit it off well! Played jump together. Chased each other. And even danced together.

Nice fenced area. Sometimes lot of poop to watch out for. Need to maintain grounds and poop bags better. Would be awesome if it had lights. I've seen people there late night with no dogs, so maybe more security too? I agree with the other comments about the people, but I have found it's fairly empty from 10a-2p during the week.

Small park. Piles of dog poop everywhere, even though there are several dog spots with bags available for cleaning. No water available for dogs to drink. People very unwelcoming. Don't waste your time.

The Dorothy Dix dog park is wonderful. It is very clean and well kept. My dog is a big sniffer, so we take it intros slow. There is both a small dog area and a large dog area. The large dog area is a larger space with plenty of areas for different dog groups to sniff and play. There is a large shaded area with a bench and several doggie bag stations throughout. A 5’ fence wraps around all sides, with one entrance by the parking lot. Off to the side of the entrance there are 3-4 port-a-potties and one trashcan for disposing of doggie bags. I will definitely be back with my girl. Playground No agility equipment, but plenty of space to sniff and run. Restrooms Several port-a-potties. Dog-friendliness Yes. Picnic area No.

It's a bit small. Other people didn't want their dogs to run around because I said ours was too small. What's the point of going to a puppy park if your puppies can't play

Not many amenities and I wouldn't want to be there after a rain but there are so few dog parks in the area that it gets an extra star for being there. If visiting by car, Harris Teeter garage is the best option - it's right across the street.
