First time here and loved it. Mosquitoes, of course. Dogs LOVED it! We spent over an hour walking the trails. Trails were well maintained and overall the park is beautiful. The memory gardens were sweet to see. People do need to pick up their dog poop better. Everyone we came across at the park were really nice. Well control of their dogs. Definitely will be coming back!

Our happy place! While our dogs sniff and cavort, we meditate on the lovely terrain. So soothing! Gorgeous during all four seasons.

This has to be one of the best dog parks of all time. It’s enormous, with varying terrain, but all fenced in around the park perimeter. You can “hike” through trees, meadows, flowers, with your dog off leash. I love bringing my 🐶 here!! …

We love Prairie Moraine dog park. It is well maintained and a gorgeous environment. The recently added poetry walk is a fun addition. Love that they have waste bags and garbage cans in the middle of the park. The different terrains add enjoyment for our pupper and give us a work out! There are a few people who can make the experience less pleasant, but the park can’t control that. It is definitely a favorite. Updating with additional pics in April 2019.

I go here maybe twice a week with my dog and she loves it so much. It's such a large Park!

Best dog park in the area—good prairie land restoration, helpful facilities, enjoyable views, ample parking, a restroom, and decent number of benches. The mosquitoes this summer are kinda brutal though so maybe bring a face net and wear long clothes that cover your skin. Your dog will appreciate it here.

Drove all the way from Chicago and it was so worth it I might make it a regular thing. This I everything a dog park should be! Miles of zig zagging trails that are beautifully maintained. My dogs and I can die happy now that we’ve been here. Restrooms Clean restroom in the parking lot. Dog-friendliness Duh!

Great dog park! Plenty of room to wander alone or socialize with your dog.

Amazing dog park. Plenty of trails and it’s large enough large groups don’t typically form. In winter yaktrax are often needed. Playground None Restrooms Single pit toilet in hard structure in parking lot. Dog-friendliness It’s a dog park Picnic area Picnic tables inside the gate, not a great spot to eat.

This is my dog's favorite park! She loves coming there and running a lot! The big loop takes about 45mins to go around but there are shortcuts to make it 15-20 or however much you and your dog want to take. It's got some nice holly and scenery parts. Has lots of apple trees that in season looks very nice. Has two trash cans, one around the middle and one at the entrance. There's also a smaller section for small dogs. Restrooms Only restroom is by the parking lot Picnic area There are two picnic areas and a couple benches to rest around the park

Short answer - a great dog park. In an area with a lot of dog parks, this one is the best. It is huge, with wooded paths, meadows for rolling, prairie grasses and oak savannah. Great views all around. Well maintained by a dedicated team of volunteers. I love it when the senior ladies are out with their Parsnip Predator tools killing the invasive species. The only con is the weekend crowd is sometimes pretty irritating. Dogs that have not been trained and have been cooped up in a little apartment all week can jump up on you or take out your knees if you are not careful. The owners can seem disinterested in watching their dogs or picking up the poop because they are too busy drinking their special coffee and talking on their phones. Am I kind of an old guy with "get off my lawn" tendencies? Maybe, but some of these people can be really special in their self-centeredness in a public place with an animal that requires supervision. Anyway, hats off to the parks team and especially the volunteers, this is a great park!

Beautiful park with lots of scenic paths to choose from. Great for taking longer walks with your dog. Walking the perimeter alone will take about 40-60 minutes. Shorter, inner paths also exist and there are many opportunities to switch paths along the way. The only downside is there is not much of a "gathering" area if you want your dog to have a chance to play and run around with other dogs

Such a great and large dog park. Trails, grassland, small forests for your dog to explore

Prairie Moraine is one of the largest dog parks in Dane county. It is well maintained and features a permit fee station at the entrance. Paths are mowed and covered in wood mulch. There’s a good mix of shaded and unshaded paths with fields for everyone to run around. The park also includes an area for geriatric and small dogs. As of Aug 2022, a portion of the park is undergoing habitat restoration and is fenced off. It’s great to see the permit fees being put to presumably good use!

This is one of the largest very well maintained dog parks in Dane county! I go once a week, at least! My dog loves it, and it's a great walk with a fun feeling! There are so many trees and fields and paths that your dog gets to enjoy so much more than the ones that are just open field. Plus, it's so large that it can take about 40 minutes to walk the fence line! Well, with water breaks and play times. 😉 It's definitely what makes the yearly dog park pass worth the $45. But there is a day rate, I think it's like $8. Plus, there is a solid amount of parking and a permanent restroom. Playground No Restrooms Installed out house. Built 2024. Dog-friendliness Very. Picnic area Picnic tables! As long as your okay with the Dogs jumping up on the table as well. Its really their park. I would not recommend trying to eat inside. 😅

Large park with open meadow, trees, some scrubby little woods. You can get a decent 45 minute easy hike around the perimeter while your pup enjoys some off leash romping and sniffing. Usually incident-free; be careful at the gate area where dogs can clump up and not all owners are mindful. Good open spaces to practice your recall.

So worth the trip across town! Such a big park, about 1.75 miles if you walk around the entire perimeter. Dog waste bins in the back corner of the park so you don’t have to carry the doggy bag the whole time, a restroom is available, well kept, we have a blast every time! Restrooms Clean pit toilet

Great dog park! Big and beautiful, lots of nice trails and well maintained

One of the best dog parks in Dane County. It's a huge area with lots of different terrain--dirt, grassy, mulched, and gravel paths for the humans. There are also cut outs that dogs make on their own so plenty of little off shoots for pups to sniff and explore in addition to space to run. It's hilly in spots and if you're not a fan of your dog getting dirty then avoid some of the more heavily wooded areas because there are some mud pits. Also, since it is a heavily wooded area, be sure to check for ticks afterwards (on everyone!). No water, so bring your own. Since it is so big it does seem that dog conflicts are less, but it is easy to lose sight of your dog here, so good recall is important.
