For being to close and easy to get to it’s great to enjoy some nice trails with pretty views. I didn’t plan well so just went out and back about 3 miles and it was nice. Probably a good idea to look at all the different trails and plan a route but even just wandering was nice. Dog-friendliness Dogs on lease. Lots of coyotes.

Stunning views all around. Took the Stream trail out and back and spent a bit on a few other crossing bridges of trails. The hills are semi intense but really so special to have a hike amidst the redwoods and so close to the city

Beautiful hiking trail with lots of large Red wood trees which makes it shady and cool in hot summer days. You may see some lady birds and squirrels. Horse riders, runners and hikers share the same trail. Restrooms There are all least 4 rest room

Hike amongst the redwoods. Plenty of trails for hiking and biking, from paved to gravel to dirt. Clean bathrooms and play structures for kids, this park has it all.

We did the stream, mill and French trail loop at Reinhardt. Spectacular views - tall redwoods towering over for the most part with a thick blanket of fog hanging over providing perfect cover from the sun. The stream was full and following along most of its namesake trail. It had been raining over the past few weeks so the trail was muddy, even marshy in parts, but not unmanageable. Come prepared to get your shoes dirty. We got there at about 1 pm and got one of few parking spots there. They have water fountains at the trailhead.

Love this place. Taken my mom and friends and everyone enjoyed. There are some bugs so bring spray and you can't get lost all the paths ends up leading you back out just remember if you go up come back down. Beautiful trees and birds and sometimes you can hear the creek running and it's so nice. There's lots of parking and the park stays open late and it's free after 5pm so it's nice in the summer to have 3hrs or hike or outside time before dark. I've met some really interesting people some from New York even a cat that's famous on Instagram. There's dogs and they are supposed to be in leashes but not always just be careful and keep an eye out. There's a ton of bathrooms. The air is so great I always feel 1000x better each time I go. Playground Yes Restrooms A ton Dog-friendliness Yes leash only Picnic area A ton and bbq grills

I rushed this visit a bit and didn’t plan as much as I should have, but Redwood Regional Park still impressed me. The forest trails are shaded and quiet, surrounded by tall trees and dense ferns, and the paths are generally well maintained. I packed too heavy, which didn’t help on some of the uphill sections. As a bonus, on my way home I drove a higher point in the Oakland Hills, where the view opens up toward the San Francisco Bay. The contrast between the cool, green forest and the wide bay view was unexpected and stunning. Even with limited time, it felt like a rewarding and peaceful escape close to the city. Dog-friendliness Many people with dogs 0:29

We arrived on a Saturday around 10 AM, and there were already many people in the park. Since the park is quite large, it didn’t feel crowded. We chose the Stream Trail, which is a loop trail. It took us about two hours to complete the loop. Most of the trail is shaded, making it very comfortable on a summer day. There is approximately a 30-minute hike uphill, so I recommend carrying a hiking stick for those who may have balance issues. The trail itself is beautiful and well-maintained, with lots of redwood trees, and most hikers were very friendly and courteous. There are plenty of clean restrooms at the trailhead, and I highly suggest using the restroom before starting the hike. Additionally, there are several large parking lots, and we had no trouble finding a parking space.

REJUVENATION!! The smell. The stream with crackling babbling brooks and mini falls. Amazing vibes. Easy easy easy. There is hills but the road is pretty well rounded enough that you can actual use a wheelchair ♿️. There is a small play park around the bend at the end of the parking road at the early stages of the trail. NOT FOR TEN SPEES BIKES. Great for Mountain biking. Hiked 1 hour got as far as the Eucalyptus Trail. That trail is a Level 5 incline hike, not for the faint or weak kneed folks. Great for those who are pushing their physical therapy. Headphones or not the peace and stream with a few owls that make noise. Definitely going back because Im heavily invested into my experience return. Legit, Euphoric! Playground Small child play ground area Restrooms Several throughout the trails Dog-friendliness Yes. Basic dog rules. *Dogs must be on leash *dog must be voice controlled. * clean up dog #2 bag it and trash in proper receptacle. *Do Not Dog Litter Recommend using Library voice as voice caries any conversation throughout trails. Picnic area Many many many. R S.V.P. required

Peaceful! Can't believe it's next to a neighborhood. The Skyline Gate Staging Area has a few parking lots, but there's also lots of roadside spaces. I hiked a loop around the Stream and East Ridge trails, which takes you through redwood trees and views of the surrounding hills. Both trails were wide and well-maintained. Would love to explore more trails 🌲🏞️🥾🍄‍🟫

Reinhardt Redwood Regional Park is truly a crown jewel of the East Bay. It offers a spectacular escape into nature without requiring a massive road trip, and it hits that rare "sweet spot" where rugged natural beauty meets thoughtful, modern amenities. Why You’ll Love It Pristine Redwood Trails: The trail system is incredibly diverse. Whether you’re looking for a flat, accessible stroll along the Stream Trail or a more vigorous hike up the French Trail, everything is well-marked and meticulously maintained. The second-growth redwoods create a lush, cool canopy that feels like stepping into another world. Top-Notch Facilities: One of the standout features is the cleanliness of the facilities. Unlike many remote parks, the restrooms (especially near the Canyon Meadow and Skyline Gate staging areas) are famously well-kept and reliable, making it a much more comfortable destination for families and long-distance hikers alike. Stress-Free Parking: While it’s a popular spot, the park offers ample parking across several staging areas. The main entrance at Redwood Gate provides plenty of space, and even on busier weekends, the flow is generally smooth, allowing you to spend more time under the trees and less time circling for a spot.

This whole area is just one giant gem the absolutely that absolutely shines whether it's rainy out or sunny out! I did hike it this last time with trekking poles and boots with the trail being muddy it definitely felt like I leveled up and enjoyed it fully. But you'll get lost in the moss and redwoods right in Oakland backyard. Bonus if you have a pup because most of it from my understanding is off leash friendly
