Massive park by the grand river. Century old trees. People used to walk, run and fish in this park. A picnic shed there too. But the restroom is terrible and a bit weird design. Restrooms Only one. Not good.

One of favorite places to relax and walk my dog. Runs along The Grand River, there is a boat launch, a few play grounds, a disk golf course, and a Pavillion with picnic tables. There is also some base ball fields nearby. Well maintained. My only wish is there was a giant dog park within the park as there is space, but overall great place for a walk.

This place is beautiful! I definitely recommend checking it out. There's a place to launch your kayak or boat onto the Grand river, take photos, park benches, fishing access everywhere, its a place for everyone. Walking, running, biking, walk the dogs, Disc golf..

Spent all day fishing and walking around this park with lots to do . Be it running jogging riding bike or fishing are spending time with your family this place offers a lot to do. I have read others comments saying that the Frisbee golf course is closed for the Year this is not true I've watched multiple people playing frisbee golf all day long. So how could this be the discourse is closed when multiple people are playing up until the sun going down. This is a nice park. Dog friendly

#Food truck Fridays. If you build it they will come.... absolutely amazing weather and the same thing needs to be said about the event. First time here and it won't be the last!!

One of the best things about grand rapids. This park is always meticulously maintained and stretches along the grand River for miles. There are parts of this park I could and have spent hours relaxing. Great place to hang a hammock, and they also have an excellent 18-hole disc golf course.

Good spot for either relaxing and reading a book or taking the kids to play. I myself enjoy going here to try and fish. But I've also taken the kids here and it's an all in one. We fish, I fish, we're all having fun! If they want to play the can at the playground, if they need to use the bathroom they have one too! All you need is some snack and an hour or two!

Great park! A long walking trail along the river, tons of shade. A really nice area as well to explore afterwards!

It's an absolutely beautiful trail. The Grand River runs so close, and there are beautiful little streams throughout the wooded trail. It's paved if that's what you prefer or several organic trails that run close to the paved trail.

What an enormous park! Constantly getting maintenance, though not intrusively. It's peaceful. It's popular, and very busy at times, but not without space to spare when it is. They have a lot of parking within, as well as parallel parking on the roadside outside of the gates. Boaters seem to never be congested, bathrooms (prison style toilets but clean and stalls to separate the toilets in the women's . Multiple playgrounds, disc golf courses, ball fields, picnic tables and grills (some with cover). My favorite part of this park is the bird population. Lots of geese (and goslings right now!). Ducks, robins and small birds too. I've seen blue herons, hawks, and a Balde Eagle. If I could change one thing, I would loooove to have an enclosed/fenced area for off-leash dogs to run, play, and get the stimulation they need. I bring my dog each time. Lots of people walking their dogs, as well. Playground Multiple. Clean/well maintained. Safe. Restrooms Prison-style toilets. Closed during winter. Clean. Sink, soap, and air dryer. Dog-friendliness On-leash walking. No doggy poo bag dispensers, (BYOB - bring your own bags). No fence, no enclosures. Picnic area Lots of stand-alone tables. Often paired with grills. Multiple covered picnic areas. Clean and well maintained. 0:29

This large, local, and historic park in Grand Rapids that extends along the banks of the Grand River has a lot to offer. Beautiful old trees, sports fields, picnic areas, fishing, a walking / bike riding path with both shade and sunny sections, frisbee golf, boat launch, etc. Different events are held there throughout the year like the recent autumn Octoberfest we attended. Playground Yes Restrooms Seasonal Dog-friendliness Yes Picnic area Yes with pavilions

Awesome park on the river. A perfect 5km if you walk the path closest to the river between the north and south parking lots, there and back. Playground 2 playgrounds one for young kids near the center of the park, another for older kids north of the baseball fields Restrooms A couple restrooms, they dont always seem to be open. Decent quality. Dog-friendliness Great for dog walks. No dog park, yet.. Picnic area Serveral picnic areas, often with charcoal grills.

Great park. Love the playground, ball fields, nice to have bathrooms and walking / biking trails. Have done so many activities here over the years. Taking canoes and kayaks out to the river from here; kids played softball here for years; love going walking here and the food truck Fridays in the summer are lots of fun. Playground Great little playground for the kids Restrooms Clean enough for an outdoor bathroom. There are enough facilities all over the park you never have to walk far.

One of my favorite parks in Grand Rapids. Close to home, HUGE, and beautiful. Cottonwood in the park is a bit irritating during May-June, though and it is not as well kept and cleaned up. Still the park I frequent the most, but that is because it is so large and very close.

I live so close to this park, walk it daily with my dogs and love to see the amount of people exercising and using it. It’s large enough to really enjoy in a variety of ways. A favorite spot to walk when the sun is coming up or going down. 0:14

The Hudson flows in steady, silver lines, Beside the tiered stone and tangled vines. Where Olmsted’s vision meets the city’s edge, Life blooms upon the rocky, river ledge. The elms reach out to shade the asphalt way, As cyclists blur through shadows, cool and gray. The scent of salt and cherry blossoms blend, Where iron tracks and grassy slopes descend. A dog leaps high to catch a fleeting ball, While echoes bounce off monuments so tall. From Soldiers' Sailors' heights to Grant’s grand tomb, The restless city finds its breathing room. The joggers' rhythm beats a steady drum, Against the distant, heavy traffic hum. But here, the wind is free to play and swirl, A quiet ribbon in a spinning world. At dusk, the sky turns gold and bruised with blue, As Jersey lights begin their evening view. The river swallows up the dying sun, And Riverside breathes deep when day is done.

This nicely-shaded park runs along a stretch of the river and features a few ponds opposite the flowing water, so it's beautiful all year! Watch out for geese "evidence" in the summer months, but other than that, it really is a safe, clean park for the whole family to enjoy! A great asset to the Grand Rapids community!

This is such a nice park. Wide open spaces, beautiful view of the river, and a fun little playground for kids. Easy access and parking. Great for a walk any time of day. Best in fall with the beautiful changing of leaves.
