sandia vista dog park

This Dog Park is not fit for my dog. Gates are broken, goat heads abound, and lots of broken glass. It is a new(ish) park, no water no benches or shade. Just needs some community love.

It's a decent open space, still kinda junky. There's also a piece of fence missing, lucky it was cold so no one was there

There's a lot of stickers there poor dogs paws that go there

Park needs a makeover

Prairie dogs everywhere, graffiti. It's the worst park I've been to

The City did their part and put down a ton of wood chips. No prairie dogs that I've seen in the couple of times I've been there. The gates are secure and the park is a decent size. There is one section at the bottom of the southwest side of the fence where a small dog (Chihuahua size) could get out. People don't pick up after their pets, despite the fact there are poop bags provided. So if you don't mind your dog running around poop, then it's okay. One bench for seating.

This was the WORST dog park EVER! There's an entire section of fence missing and another section that is bent so much the dogs can get out--an 80 pound dog can get through! There's absolutely no grass but plenty of goat heads. This is not a safe environment to bring your dogs to. I wish I had read the reviews before we went and let our dogs go free. We would've never let our girls off leash.

New to the area, the photos looked inviting but the park was closed, no signage or anything. Disappointing

This park is very peaceful and tucked away in a cozy little neighborhood. I have plenty of park benches picnic benches on your gazebos trash cans everywhere to keep it debris free really nice jungle gym with swings and slides. The dog park is vast and extremely spacious there's plenty of room on the outside of the fence to ride bikes for the older kids I just can't get enough of this park and I come here quite often if you haven't been to this park I recommend that you make this trip Playground The playground has a slide swings a mesh net for the kids the crawl across Restrooms No restrooms Dog-friendliness The designated dog park huge! I brought the dogs up here million times to play and they can't get enough of it Picnic area The picnic areas are very clean and have gazebo coverage and there's trash receptacles all over the park which makes it easy to clean up after yourself

There were a bunch of homeless people hanging around, they had two pit bulls, thankfully they were on leash (and so were the dogs LOL). The homeless have a camp behind the park where they come and go, I saw them stripping wire that they probably jacked from somewhere. Dog-friendliness It is a dog park but today they didn't have doggie bags. Picnic area There are a couple of covered picnic tables.

Prairie dog infested, so great if you want your dog to get some exercise. Other than that, it's just a dirt lot. The bigger area isn't fully enclosed, there's two different spots where they can get out, but it's nice and hidden so your dog can sneak away Dog-friendliness Not enclosed

The dog park is a great little place to have your dog run around in. The place is kept clean. Not too many dogs come here at one time. It is a quiet place to be at.

We just took our two dogs to this park. DON'T GO. We were there less than 1 minute - both dogs' paws full of goat head thorns. They were NOT happy. We sure are not happy. Going to 311 this. City of ABQ, get your act together.

There's no water at all for dogs and everyone knows dogs need a lot of water on hot days . And I think the park was set aside for prairie dogs. There are probably more than a hundred of them. They're neat animals but my 7 month old pitbull was kinda scared of them. I think he was worried about getting jumped. It was fun. Playground There is a decent playground for kids and stuff for them to climb on. Restrooms I didn't see any restrooms. Dog-friendliness I only talked to 1 guy but he was on his way out. There weren't any other dogs for company. Plenty to sniff I guess the pup stays sniffing. Picnic area Probably not too bad for a picnic. Very quiet and I saw a few places to have a table to eat.

Graffiti near play areas and bums garbage everywhere. Homeless campers had spent the night and moved along once they seen kids came to play at the park.
