Scherer Park

Nice little park to take the family. There is a cute man-made pond with waterfall feature, plenty of seating and trashcan The bathrooms are acceptable, and there is a fair amount of parking spaces.

There's always duck poop all over the place! I have to tippy toe my way around and dodging dookie on the pavement. Can't sit on the benches either cuz most likely kaka is on it! There's always some random homeless guy selling makeup...

Needs the city to get the park people to go through and clean the damn place. The water was horrible need the fountain on or something. No water in the little creek. It's a good place to take some pictures but definitely needs some TLC!

I brought my daughter here to see the ducks and she really liked it. It's a nice park! But I felt so bad to see mama duck with all her duckies swimming in the dirty pond. There was so much trash I hope they clean it soon.

This park is close to where I dog walk so it’s very convenient to walk to. There is plenty of space and a cute pond in the middle. However, there tends to be a lot of homeless in the mornings and a lot of trash is left behind, especially along the edge of the park. Please pick up your trash to keep parks clean! :)

It's a nice place but there are bees swarming in the trees. I was like terrified. We pulled up and parked rolled the windows down and here come the bees in the car. I just had to let ya'll know be careful. We left after I filmed it to post.

All sorts of animals!!! Turtles, geese, different kinds of birds, lots of squirrels, butterfly’s, fireflies, ducks, fish!! It’s a free zoo!! I love it

The geese and ducks have pooped everywhere, can't even walk in the grass without stepping in feces...💩 …

Scherer Park is a nice neighborhood spot in Long Beach. There’s a little lake in the middle surrounded by tons of ducks and geese, which makes it feel peaceful and a little lively at the same time. The park has big shady trees, plenty of grass to hang out on, walking paths, and a playground. There are also courts if you’re into tennis or basketball. It’s a solid place to relax, walk the dog, or just watch the ducks waddle around.

Despite an attempted bite by an uncontrolled dog (he tore the sleeve of my jacket), the park was an oasis.. water feature is worth a look. Restrooms Clean and maintained. Dog-friendliness 2 dog parks which seemed to be well cared for. Chatted with a very pleasant gentleman at the small dog park (he witnessed the unprovoked attack by the aforementioned cur). Picnic area Lots of space.. not sure how it is accessed for large gatherings though.

It's a beautiful, large park where many people get married. But there needs to be a natural water purifier for the pond to clear out. It's very dark and I cannot see any fish swimming in it.

Nice, Green Park with old trees. Adjacent dog park is nice. Well-maintained.

Love all the ducks, the huge size of the park and great staff. And its right next to police station so it feels "Extra" safe. Needs more tables and benches or Id give it 5 stars

Very large and pretty park with a large pond that has lots of ducks, geese, mud hens and turtles.

It’s pretty ok but the bathrooms for the public need improvements. Like proper maintenance instead of improper maintenance

My siblings and I, builded a wooden hut 🛖, ate free lunches from the park, and played at Scherer Park. Also, I drew a hand ✋️writing✍️ in the park recreational area, while the place was open and the attendance was at the recreational area. Also, I rode my Helleys, skateboard🛹, bicycle🚲, and scooter. I played tag, basketball🏀, and freezetag. I builded sandcastles, sandbridges, and buried the green sandbees🐝. Playground The sandbox, slide, and swings were at the playground. Picnic area The shade was at the picnic area.

My kids love this park.great after school activities, and sports team

Not that I have a pet but their pet park is pretty nice. Tennis court is way too far. The court is next to the playground and the restroom, now that's a plus. The pond is nice but too much bird poop.

Nice walk love the nature, Also like the walking trails. don't know what that big bird was but he sat there a long time. He had a tag on his leg.

went during afternoon time on a monday so it was very peaceful. barely any water in some part of the pond but it's understandable in the drought. birds were all around the park doing their own thing untill a lady came to feed them bread. DO NOT FEED the birds. bread is really bad for them. saw at least 6-7 difference species of birds. plenty of parking
