Shawnee Lake Off-Leash Dog Area

It is not ever crowded. Lots of space. Some muddy spots in the southwest corner if it has rained recently. They don't have the water on all the time. Suggest bringing a jug of water and filling in the bathroom if it is unlocked. Sometimes the dog waste bags are out so bring your own.

Only drawback is there is not enough shade. Especially where your waterpoint is. But it stays pretty clean.

Large grassy area with some trees and some seating. Dogs seemed pretty happy although it's not terribly busy.

The dog park is enclosed and large. There are some benches and a shelter for the humans. There is a water fountain that also has a dog fountain on the bottom. The area is clean and open. There is also poo bags to pick up after your pets. It is a great place to take the pup to socialize with other dogs and find playmates. My dogs left the park with happy faces.

First time going there and my dogos had a blast. There's starting to get more shade now with the trees and gazebo. There is a nice clean water fountain as well. Very quiet and away from busy roads, so noise is limited. Playground It is a big playground just across the street. Restrooms There is restrooms, not sure when they get locked up for the day. But is open to the public.

Huge, tons of room for my dog to run around. Just be wary that some of the other dogs may not always be so friendly.

Water drinking hole for dogs. Plenty of room to walk around. Great shade trees for both 2 and 4 legged animals.

Update: 5/24/25 Went back to this park as we were staying nearby in a campground. Not much has changed except for they added some more picnic tables and maybe added a couple more trash cans. But only has the one large dog park area and only one doggy bag station at the main entrance. ***Please clean up after your dogs, watched 2 girls watch their 4 dogs poop and not clean it up. 10/21/2022 This is over all a very nice dog park. It is very spacious for the dogs to run and play. It does have some benches and picnic tables for sitting. The park does have water inside the fence for the dogs as well. There are a couple trash cans but only one dog bag dispenser. There are trees for shade as well. There is not separate area for small dogs. The day we went everyone was nice and the dogs all got along. **Things they should maybe think about adding:** -Small dog area -More doggy bag stations throughout and a couple more trash cans. Side Note: There is also a playground for kids right across the way.

No trash cans, no poop bag stations no water station. This off-leash dog park is one large open area, no separation between little dogs and large dogs.

Good; Huge area for dogs to run, nearby bathrooms. Bad; no separate are for small dogs and needs more gravel near muddy entrance.
