The unofficial dog park of Northampton, my partner and I call it doggie heaven. A wooded walk that spans 2-3 miles doing the full loop, you will encounter off leash dogs all over. The loop runs along a river (or creek, or stream I'm never sure) for a good distance and all the water loving dogs are jumping in after sticks and balls, having the time of their lives. If you have a dog and like to take them off leash, bring them here. You will not regret it.

We bring our dog here regularly, and this place is incredible year round! There are always others with their dogs, so it's great for socializing your dog! This side of the river is the dog side, where you are guaranteed to see good buddies throughout your walk, and on the other side that connects to Smith Campus, you will also see dogs, but more people. This is an incredible place to bring your dogs, and we're so happy it's in our community!

Such a wonderful place to hike with my dog! They allow off leash as well. A beautiful river runs through it as well! Scenery is diverse and all gorgeous, fields of grass, corn fields, open fields of wild flowers, beaches, wooded trails and other terrain as well. Frisbee nets and running is popular there as well! It's free and they provide dog poop bags and a trash to get rid of dog waste as well which is a HUGE bonus!

A wonderful place to walk with dogs. River access for dog water play. Nice folks are usually there with their friendly fur buddies. Great off leash place. Plenty of room to roam, so no crowding. Can have muddy spots.

It's one of the best dog parks I've ever been to. Great trails and fields where dogs can go off leash. Access to water as well. If you don't like off-leash dogs, don't come here as most are off-leash and friendly.

Great place to take a friendly dog! People and pups alike were very friendly and nice. My dog enjoyed the river, which completes this wonderful spot. So hard to find a place that the dogs can really run and play all together. Please keep this spot like this forever! Dog-friendliness Friendly dogs and people only please!

These trails are used as the local off-leash dog park. It's a great community asset, with almost uniformly friendly dogs and people. Several different loops are possible, ranging from 0.5 to 2 miles, with many access points to the Mill River. (Note: On Tuesday evenings during warmer, sunnier months, the dogs are prohibited because the trails are used for cross-country running races.) Difficulty Easy Route type Loop Time spent Less than 1 hr Recommended activities Hiking, Dog Walking, Walking Parking space Plenty of parking Parking options Free parking lot

Okay, listen up humans: I padded into Smith Professional Agriculture with my tail high, nose twitching, and no leash dragging me down. Here’s how it went: 🌱 First Impressions - Wide open fields? Check. - Smells of fresh soil, hay, and possibility? Double check. - Humans in boots who actually know what they’re doing? Triple check. 🐕 Dog POV Highlights - Freedom Factor: Off-leash meant I could zigzag through rows of crops like a four-legged tractor. No one yelled, “Heel!”—instead, they smiled and said, “Good dog.” - Sniffability: Every corner had a new scent—fertilizer (meh), compost (yum), and the faint perfume of hardworking hands. - Hospitality: The staff didn’t just tolerate me; they gave me scratches behind the ears and let me supervise their soil samples. Clearly, they recognize canine expertise. 🌾 Professional Agriculture Vibe - Precision tools gleamed like chew toys I wasn’t allowed to touch. - Crop rows stood straighter than my tail when I spot a squirrel. - Efficiency everywhere—humans moving with purpose, like a pack that knows its mission. 🐾 Final Verdict Smith Professional Agriculture is basically the dog park of farming: structured, professional, but with enough freedom to let a pup roam. Off-leash approval granted. Tail wagging at maximum RPM. Difficulty Easy Route type Loop Time spent 1-2 hr Recommended activities Dog Walking 0:05 0:07
