This is a great large open area dog park. There is not a separate area for small dogs, not that I have any just thought I'd mention. Has an area for washing off dogs and even a pool to fill up. Today the dog park was clean, they had just mowed and picked up all the trash that you normally find. No flooding today usually it's half under water after a good rain. Speaking of mowing it would be nice if they would accually BAG the clippings my dogs were covered in wet grass. Area of town is sketchy but No one has ever bothered or intimidated me. I love the sidewalk that goes all the way around the park. Plenty of seating through out.

My dog likes it, I like it, and is downtown Jacksonville as you cross Union and state streets, northbound on Newnan Street, you'll find it at the corner of Confederate. Open other dogs have brought their owners also, and they have at it.

I recall the first time that I visited this park was in 2019. I recall part of this park was flooded and I do hope that the city got the opportunity to fix that discrepancy. This park is historical and has the potential to stay beautiful. But, I noticed that there are a few bums that like to around this park and beg for money, which is annoying for anybody. Another issue that I saw that day is a few folks not picking up after they walk their dog within this park.

Great and safe area for general recreation and weekend activities

This place is beautiful. Nice and peaceful with tons of grass for my furbaby to run and play. It also has a walkway all the way around and I can get in a couple of miles of walking while my dog plays, or just sit on the benches and chitchat with people. The people I've met there are really nice.

I enjoy taking my dog to this park, regularly. There's usually a few dogs every time I've gone. Huge open grassy area with cement path around perimeter. The only true downside to this park is that it gets MUDDY. Two water spickets for the pups to rehydrate and several benches to sit and watch. For a free park, it's worth visiting at least once.

It's a quiet historic park. The roses are beautiful. The geese and ducks trotter around. Hopefully COJ will spend a little money to do a few repairs soon. But it is still a nice place for a walk. The dog park is just across the street too.

Great park for pups! There are two sections - one for all dogs and another for small dogs (a previous reviewer said there wasn’t a small dog area but he wasn’t looking hard enough. There’s also a play ground for kids in the same complex. My only complaint/issue - the park can get VERY muddy even several days following a rain so be prepared to clean off your pup.

Beautiful but needs to be open at the front side as well so my walking group can walk all the way through the park.

Great for exercising both the little one's & adults. Absolutely love it! Right behind McDonald's downtown, burger king is across from McDonald's... good for getting your kid/s a happy meal & closest restrooms. Dog park is fenced in next to confederate park.

The Confederate Monument is beautiful. It’s the only thing that makes this park worth visiting. The area does not appear very safe though and appears not family friendly. Hopefully the mayor allows this beautiful history to remain .

Plenty of space for big dogs. Grass is nice. Trees provide some needed shade. Bring your own dog bags... they are often out.

Nice park except for the lack of poopie bags. Drainage is not great so the walk around path may be submerged

Lovely park in need of some TLC. The monument to Confederate women needs some additional historical context, perhaps with an additional placard. The context is that "those noble women who sacrificed their all upon their country's altar" (1915) were doing no such thing. They were (perhaps unwillingly) part of an insurrection against their country in defense of a cruel system of chattel slavery.

Very nice layout, lots of room and great walking path. Tons of benches thru out. The ditch of water along the north side of the park is unappealing as mosquitoes breed in those areas. Gate for small dog area is broken, we use the large dog area so it's not a big deal.

Sam loved the park and had a friendly playdate with lots of new dog friends. It was our first time and from this experience, we will be back. I love that they have a little doggie pool, lots of running space and water for the fur animals.

Pretty good park but probably should come up with a way to drain water when it rains. After a good rain only have the park is usable because the other half is mostly under water. Also have been asked for handouts from transients a few times which is not too fun while enjoying playtime with my dog. Sometimes people bring aggressive animals and act like you have to keep your dog on a leash or not let him/her roam free because their dog may not take to kindly. Its pretty ok for the most part but could use some improvements.
