The current is slow near shore, but you can still easily lose your floaties or even small children with floatation devices if you aren't careful. I had to swim fast to catch my floating chair when my daughter got frightened by a fish nibble in knee high water and ran from the water without it. The bottom is also uneven, so one step can throw you off balance or cause you to be over your head. With these things in mind, though, it's a nice place. There's plenty of shade trees, and life jackets are available.

Gorgeous place, very quiet and secluded. The water is pretty shallow, large dogs could walk quite a way in from the shore

The place is really nice. Great place to fish, to swim, to relax. And has a great bike/jogging path too. 1 star? It’s because people that goes here are mostly drunkards. We went on a Tuesday afternoon. My little one is ready to play in the sand with her beach toys. But we were stunned with what we saw and hear. Drunk people talking loudly, loud disco music, some lying on the sand that appears to be intoxicated. People are walking around with their colorful drinks with straws in it. Alcohol? I will say yes (I didn’t born yesterday). For safety? This is not a safe place. Parking, a very few spots to park, or park near the dog park which is half a mile distance from the lake’s gate.

Had a great time here awesome place to bring the family. I suggest getting here early to beat the crowds and get front parking near the skate park which in it self is pretty awesome. There are some bathrooms here but they are about mid way from the entrance and from where the parking is to the river so definitely go before hand or you'll have a long trek to get there. Plenty of beach line for everyone to enjoy so it doesn't feel crowded and this was on a Sunday so yay. There was a very nice lady near the parking lot that was handing out trash bags to people since there are to cans on the beach only near the parking lot so it very convenient to clean up after yourselves and not leave a mess on the beach. Saw lots of boats and dogs so fun times for everyone.

Nice trails all around this area, used to be a lot of homeless camps, but not as many as before so just a heads up if you are going off of paved trail. You can hike all the way down to sac state, sunrise and sunset are pretty much parallel to the high rise bike path. A lot families and off-leash dogs, but friendly. My pup and I have never had any issues & this is one of our go to spots for 10,000 steps (if you walk from Glenn Hall Park parking lot to sutter landing parking lot and back) 0:04 0:07

A quiet cool place, you can feed the ducks. Not many people, free parking. There is a toilet. Bring water and snacks with you.

I used to come here all the time as a kid, I love it! It's an awesome river spot with free parking, lots of beach space and there used to be a rope swing but the city took it down cuz it was dangerous. It's a very popular spot, so it might be a bit crowded, but it's popular for a reason so check it out! 0:08

Beautiful clean and not crowded. Very happy to have found about this place. Sometimes the dog activity can be overwhelming. There were about 15 at one point. A rude family sat in front of us despite the whole beach having room but once we got away from them it was great!
