I did the Island trail. After a good rain. There were a few puddles but not bad. Decent walk for beginners. Lots a great flowers and plants if you're into that.

The walking trails are great and give a good variety to see. I'd recommend driving all the way to the and and enter at the nature center. Entering anywhere else is fine, but its all the same trails. There are 2 main trail starts, one on each side of the road. And there are several trails within the trails. Everything is pretty well marked. They've made nice use of some of the existing features such as the old brick road. There's a newly renovated lookout tower looking into the marshes leading to the river. A worthy but relatively easy hike. Playground A very nice one for children. Adults who want to enjoy a swing, they're too small for adults. Biggest bummer about the whole park. Restrooms 2! One near the playground and One near the Nature Center. Dog-friendliness On a leash anywhere in the park. But there is also a dog park. 2 sides for big and small dogs. Depending on recent rains, there can be puddles in areas. Picnic area Yes. There is a very large covered area with pic nice tables in the playground area. Its the perfect spot for kids birthday parties.

Beautiful park. The tower was so awesome to experience. The water seems to have receded but the sights as you can see are still so worth it! The trails were very well maintained and clear. The bathrooms were closed and the nature center was also closed. The width of the trail was great because it was wide enough to walk beside the people you are walking with rather than walking in a line. Many kids and dogs on trail.

The trail is marked good enough. Make sure you take the split to the right on the boardwalk that isn’t marked blue or you will miss the lookout tower. There is no signage for it at all. It near where the brick road end and you see a fence. It can be a little confusing but the boardwalk takes you to the lookout. There view is okay but all the drawings and positive sayings written on the lookout tower were entertaining. When you come into the park there is plenty of parking for but you want to drive all the way to end to be near the blue trail start. The women’s bathroom was being remodeled and not open while we were there. The park seemed completely safe and we didn’t run into any wildlife other than a squirrel.

I enjoy hiking this trail when I am in the area. It is just a little over a mile. The view from the tower is beautiful. The trail is pretty level, however be on the lookout for roots as they are a trip hazard on the natural parts of the trail. A lot of the trail is on elevated wooden walkways. The trail would be difficult for wheel chair users, but could be managed with assistance. Playground Several pieces of equipment for climbing on, swings, see photo Restrooms Restrooms near the picnic and playground area, as well as at the trailhead. Picnic area There is covered picnic area, as well as several tables closely positioned.

Good spot for exploring. There are real restrooms at the playground and nature center. The Island Trail gets very narrow and signage is a bit confusing but still a fun hike. Playground New fun playground! Dog-friendliness Fenced dog park. 0:20
