I'm in town visiting my sister and I went out and explored today despite it being 15° with wind chill 😬 But, it was worth it! This is a cool place to walk around. They have several playgrounds and benches for people watching. It wasn't super busy due to it being a Tuesday but enough people to watch (not in a creep way, rather just seeing all walks of life!). It's small so it's not a huge walk but really pretty. Thumbs up.

Great park to walk through or enjoy some food. They recently finished renovating the bathrooms and it’s nice to see it without all of the construction. Dog park is fun to walk by and there’s usually some action at the skatepark. Lots of nearby restaurants and cafes to grab some food and sit at one of the many benches.

I recently visited Tompkins Square Park with my Yorkiepoo, Missy, and we had such a pleasant time. The dog park area is fantastic—divided into two sections, one for small dogs and another for larger breeds. This setup made it feel safe and comfortable, especially since Missy is on the shy side. She mostly sat on the bench beside me, quietly observing all the other dogs having fun. While she didn’t engage much, I know she enjoyed the peaceful, pet-friendly atmosphere. Beyond the dog park, the entire area is beautiful and well-maintained. There are children’s playgrounds with swings and slides, and a huge basketball court for those looking to stay active. The park is very scenic with lots of greenery and tall trees that make it a relaxing place to stroll or just sit and unwind. It was a perfect day to be outside, and we’re definitely planning to come back again. Whether you’re a dog owner, parent, or just someone looking for a nice park in the city, Tompkins Square Park is worth the visit. 0:13 0:03 0:26

This dog park is amazing. The spacious layout allows dogs to run freely, chasing each other with boundless energy. There are plenty of shaded areas where owners can relax while their pets play. The community is friendly, with fellow dog lovers sharing tips and stories. Every weekend, you can find organized activities that bring everyone together for fun and socialization.

The place which was witness to the beginning of the transcendental Hare Krishna Movement started by Srila Prabhupada. It's so surreal to see something so magnanimous to start from such common looking places.

Open field of fresh air! Clean with limited seating so it’s mostly for walking around. Good for families and also pets. There is a lot of restaurants around and stuff to do so it’s a good resting place if you are wandering around East Village.

In my 40 yrs as a denizen of the city I've heard & experienced MUCH in and about Tompkins Square Park... but since becoming a resident of the area, this Horton (c/o Dr.Suess) has been hearing something quite uniquely reserved for the likes of medicine persons, wiccans, shamans, or those in possession of a Rhizotron. What I hear... makes me look up... (and then look down 🤔) ... Oh yeah, the people, vibe, recent renovation, weekend markets, & events like the dance parade 😉)

this park is extremely friendly, safe, and diverse! extremely dog, friendly, and a great way to connect with nature. Wildlife squirrels and birds are gangster, so be aware because they will eat your food directly from your hand. they have a very nice dog park, and owners are very friendly and seem educated in reference to their Pet vaccination status. Be aware if you have an intact, female dog, because there are numerous male intact, dogs, and will run the risk of your female dog, getting pregnant! Owners, though are very nice, and attentive to their pet behavior in case they get into scuffles, or rough housing. I have historically came to this park, although for this review, it was a Sunday morning. Both bathrooms are open, presentable, and plenty full of toilet paper. There was a little wait for the women’s restroom, although the line went fast. There were staff on premises cleaning up behind anyone who may have left garbage as well! 10 out of 10! Playground Plenty children playing and safe! Dog-friendliness 10/10 0:11
