Nice dog run. They have only one dog run so can be a bit scary if you have a small dog and there's lots of big-medium sized dogs around. Lots of benches on the sides but little shade so bring a hat if you plan to be there for a bit of time. Dog-friendliness Love the dog run

The one thing I’ll say about the dog run is that there are a lot of dogs and there are a lot of owners. That makes her a very mixed bunch of dogs that behave in dogs that really don’t behave the issue here is that some of the dogs that don’t behave don’t have owners that reinforce positive behaviors. With the busyness of the dog run it’s just something to keep an eye out for if things get too crazy too quickly. Dog-friendliness It’s dog friendly, but keep an eye out for your dogs because there’s a lot of dogs and there’s no one really enforcing any proper behavior.

This is a super small one and dogs of all kinds like to run or play in it.

This dog park is not my fav but it may be yours. It’s smells bad which is to be expected. Lots of weed smoking right outside the part by homeless. Lots of different kinds of people. Not the cleanest lots of dog poops all over. The guy who opened the park is strange has a huge mastiff. No separation for little and bigs.

Good but small dog one is extremely small. I have a little pug who loves to run around but can’t in the city. Good still

My sister and I have been to this place and that both of us was near the dog run and saw dogs running around in the dog run and was having fun this is because it was a nice place for dogs to play with each other and socialize. Also, the dog owners were talking to each other. Dog-friendliness YES

This place super small. If you want your pet to have a good time go to the 2nd Ave where there is a legit and large run around area. This place is not clean either.

I visited this dog park today for the first time and it was great. There are extra dog bags which I appreciated because I only had one on me. There is also an adequate amount of benches which was another plus.

My Home away from Home. This is my favorite Park in all of New York City. There's always something going on. Bands play on the stage & The Market in the Summer and Fall then the Christmas Village in the Winter. Great place. They have a dog run. And a play ground for the children. I can go on and on. Highly recommended.

Nice spot to spend time with your dog on 14th st. The dog park is tucked away beside the statue. There is only one play area, this park doesn't separate the big dogs from the small ones. Dog-friendliness Dog park

The dog run has a gravel ground cover, bench seating, poop-bad dispensers, waste bins and cleaning equipment. It also has a large watering area that features plastic wash tubs for dog bathing. The park is one good-sized, fenced-in area with no separation for large and small dogs.

Never been here but I am very happy to see a dog park that doesn't discriminate on dog size. Small? Large? Even medium sized dogs are all welcome here!! Very unlike the dog parks at Washington Square park! 😡 …

I was exploring Union Square Park today looking at all the statues and all the other activity including the many vendors on the west side. Lots to see in this park. Many benches. I passed by the Dog Run and there were several dogs playing there. Seemed to be a popular feature of this park. 0:14

I live 40 steps from Central Park , 863 acres no dog run!!! Incredulous, really, but true. Hence, I take an Uber down to Union Square, where my puppy can run and play in contained area. I find the owners to be friendly here and dogs as well. Also, love that surface is not sand as it makes a huge mess , back at home . My favorite dog run

The space seems very nice and clean from what I could tell from the outside. There is a standard two gate system for safety at the entrance. It is all hard surface, no grass. Looks like there were extra poop bags and such stocked. There is no separation between small and large dogs, it's all one big open area. We really wanted to love this park but other owners definitely ruined the experience. I understand that dogs will be dogs, but owners need to step in at some point and be accountable for the behavior of their pets. We stepped into the first gate with no issue, the park wasn't overly busy, probably about 10-15 people there on a Saturday morning while the Green Market was going on. When we got to the second gate we noticed one very excited dog awaiting our arrival, and that's no issue. We couldn't really get inside because of the dog but we just sort of inched our way in until I was inside and the gate was open- my husband right behind me with our dog. At this point someone was trying to come in the first gate, and someone started yelling at them to not open because a dog could get out- understandable. The owner of the excited dog refused to actually do anything about their dog. He was all over my girl in seconds, trying to mount her, and I had to pull him off of her myself with no help at all while not knowing who the owner was because no one was paying attention besides the person yelling. This dog was a very stocky either bulldog or pitbull type breed so all muscle. I had to pull him off, get myself between him and my dog, and get her off the ground. After I did this, the dog wouldn't stop jumping up on me. I have chronic pain issues, and this was an absolute nightmare moment for me. We were stuck by the open gate because the dog wouldn't get out of the way and couldn't move. My husband was stuck behind us because of this dog and couldn't assist. At the end of this fiasco, which lasted several minutes the owner FINALLY walked up and said "OFF" but the dog wouldn't listen and I still couldn't get away. The person finally pulled the dog away like it was a chore for them and I was able to get the gate closed, and we left. Please, PLEASE pay attention to your dogs in these environments. This was a horrible situation to put someone in. We won't be returning based on this experience alone.

Double gated and fenced dog run at the park. Hardscaped, no dirt or grass, which means it's not muddy. There's a hose and large water bowl, bags to clean up after your dog (and trash can), hooks for your leash, and plenty of benches for the humans. FYI, the park has a public restroom, but pets aren't allowed inside. Restrooms The day I visited it was stocked with supplies (t.p. and soap). Sink faucet ran hot water! Air blower for your hands. Pretty clean for a NYC public bathroom.

Nice park, everyone is always friendly and respectful but very dirty and smelly. More to do with how sanitation maintains the park.

There is a water spicket, poop bags & if I remember a place to throw out trash, out of reach of the dogs. The entrance is more efficient/safe than most as it's in the shape of an L.
