The park is in good condition, and every person/ dog we've met there has been nice. They only real complaint (and it's a big one) is that the gate lock is garbage. People can get in and out without a key way too easily, and the city really needs to fix it. There's also a lot of uncleaned dog "piles" left by inattentive people.

Average dog park, and you do have to have a key fob to get in through Indiana parks. There is a water fountain with dog water level attachment so you don't have to bring water for your dog.

Have to pay $75 to go to a dog park that doesn’t have very many activities for dogs. I’ll pass there are plenty free ones with the same items as this. Save your money friends.

Members only park! Horrible! Doesn’t tell you it’s a members only park. I’m a from Reno Nevada and need to let my dog run, members in the park were rude to me.

Great park and walking trail with pond. Quieter and cleaner than indy parks.

Should probably put down some mulch for high traffic spots but a great little dog park for the puppers to run around and burn off some energy!

Smaller park, not a lot for the dogs to do. While I was there for a first visit, I was worned by a patron that others bring aggressive dogs here often.

Mulch is a horrible idea! There have been numerous cases of Blastomycosis that is present in mulch. Dogs get it and they die. Most mulch is spagnum peat that comes from Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin, these states have some of the highest amounts of dog deaths by Blasto in the country. Live with the high traffic areas, mulch isnt the smart choice.

It's for members only. Which is kinda stupid. Js why do owners have to pay for their pup to have a good time.

I have taken my Great Dane here for the last 2 years and in the past year it seems that there are never any other dogs there? The whole reason we got him a membership was so he could interact with other dogs in an unleashed setting. I agree with the reviewers that too many underage kids are running amuck and it's frustrating because my dog is far from aggressive but he also doesn't realize how big he is. So when the unsupervised children run at him he thinks it's go time. This usually ends with him knocking a kid over and the kid crying. My dog should be able to run about freely without the distraction of kids that don't know how to behave. We will be joining another dog park rather than renewing our current membership.

Easy to access park. (Requires registration with the park service of Lawrence to receive a key tag). Loads of space, a great dog/human water fountain, and some nice benches. We've not yet been there when other dogs are there which is both positive and negative.

There is no signage by the gate stating it is members only. 2 stars for being a nice looking park.

There aren't really activities for dogs to do here. The area right in front of the entrance had no grass, so when it rains, it becomes a huge mud puddle that dogs always run through. Half of the time, even in great weather, there is no one here. I hate taking my dog for her to run around by herself and look anxiously out the gate for another dog

I just experienced a hostile interaction at Waggin' Tails Bark Park with a woman who sits in her car while her large, somewhat snarly and aggressive older border collie mix growled at my labrador before we were in the park. I stood at the gate about to approach her and talk to her at the car but she exited her car before I got there to ask if I needed anything. I said yes, I needed her to be in the park with her dog if I'm going in with mine. She cursed at me and said she'll do whatever she d**n well wants and she'll sit in her car like she always does, especially when it colds. She said that everyone does that. I explained that the rules require that she be in the park with her dog and with a leash. (She should also be in there to clean after her dog but I had already said too much.) She had already been there for at least 30 minutes --- we had walked around the neighborhood to the south waiting for her to either leave or get into the park. When we moved here we were surprised that park entry was through membership but thought that would provide some control over dog owners and their behaviors. Our dog is a dog park veteran from parks all over the country and knows how to behave. This is not, however, the first time this has happened at Waggin' Tails Bark Park. Apparently others believe they have entitlement as members and can sit in their cars, but this is the first time someone became hostile with me. I hate that a few people can run off those who follow the rules as that will leave only those who don't follow the rules, which have been established for many good reasons. And that will create an unfriendly experience for dogs and their humans.

Too many new dog owners not controlling their aggressive dogs. Today a new member with two dogs - one a friendly puppy and the other an old Chow mix - couldn't see that when my dog played and ran with the puppy the chow would charge in aggressively and bite my dog. She denied it was happening. We had just arrived before the new member but were forced to leave because she didn't want to control the Chow. Dog-friendliness Most dogs are friendly or keep to themselves but there are aggressive dogs and the owners do nothing.
