This is definitely a 5-star park. Very spacious, especially for Manhattan, including an area for smaller pups. A gravel surface but very well cared for. Lots of benches for the people including tree wraparounds. As the gateway to Riverside Park, the views are also quite wonderful, especially as sunset approaches.

Great dog run! Covered with bark dust and has water for the doggos. Nice benches and a view of the Hudson as well.

Clean dog park with separate space for big and small dogs. No hills or training equipment (unless you happen to be there at the same time as someone who has access to the locked equipment storage box).

Great place. Two separate parks, one for small dogs only, other is all welcome. Could get a little hectic during peak hours. Some owners not paying attention to their pups bullying others or to clean up after them so minus 1 star. Unfortunately the gravel/sand combo of this park isn’t great for my black pup’s curly fur. Would have to bathe him each time we come.

Where the UWS dog crowd meets! This is a well maintained neighborhood dog run in Riverside Park that attracts a nice friendly crowd. The owners, for the most part are considerate of other dog owners and abide by the dog run's rules. There are separate areas for small and large dogs and a water faucet with running water. We use the facility often.

Great place for small dogs. Preferable over the Bull Moose Dog Run as the surface is better, it is larger, and miss little dogs come.

Great size, two separate areas for small and large dogs. Very friendly community and plenty of benches to sit. Unfortunately, water is currently not available / working. Also the gravel is very dusty and my dog tends to swallow it when fetching balls.

This large dog run is great for socializing and exercising your pup's! They have a smaller partition for small dogs and usually there is a water hose access (not during freezing months).

Pros: Large dog run, a lot of great owners & dogs, a lot of benches, spare bags for poop and a good amount of garbage cans. Be aware: Like more NYC dog parks the vast majority of people are great but there are always a few that bring a dog in heat, have no idea on socialization or are super rude (this is like 5%) but since folks bring not neutered dogs into the park and some dogs are in heat its a good head's up.**If your dog has a high prey drive they can easily jump the fence to chase the squirrels - I frequently have to climb over or recall one of mine that hops the fence. **

It's best to go during weekday afternoons when the walkers are there to help maintain order. Evenings and weekends can be crowded and chaotic due to distracted humans ignoring their dog's behavior.

Park is decent but many of the people who come here have a stick where it doesn’t belong. DO NOT BRING YOUR DOG HERE IF YOU DONT WANT THEM TO PLAY. Some owners are so touchy and stupid. Sit at home and coddle your dog if you don’t want it to play with others! Grow up.

Sunny and big dog run. The ground is a gravel type material so it gets pretty dusty. My dog seems to like it but now she needs a bath!

This is a great place to take your dog if you live on UWS. It can get pretty chilly during the winter because it's right off the water. But whenever the weather is nice, I walk the half mile to this park with my dog. The run is well maintained and a beautiful spot to watch the sunset. There is both a little dog run and a larger dog run. Obviously little dogs are allowed into bigger section but there is the option to go into the smaller area.

Great dog run. Beautiful views for humans, dusty but soft and large area for dogs. Separate area for small dogs. Many benches for people. A water spigot to fill dog bowls as needed. Tall trees provide some shade. Nice mix of Upper West siders with their poodle-mixes and purebred dogs. The occasional true mix breed. Overall, a nice place to visit for both people and especially for dogs.

This a really nice dog park! Spacious and very accommodating. I'm gonna go as far as to say this is the best dog park in all of New York City. I've been to many and theres always an issue with maintenance or over crowding. Not at Riverside park. No issues, it was more than a pleasnat experience.

Large dog run on the upper west side! Our dog had a great time playing with the other dogs. Be ready to wipe your dog down afterwards as a lot of dust gets kicked up from the loose gravel.

This is a very large, clean, dog run, with gravel and apple trees. There is a smaller run for smaller dogs, as well as a hose with water and plenty of benches.

A great location for dogs to run free. There is enough room for a game of fetch. The surface is a fine gravel.

A great park with a good mix of dogs and dog lovers. It’s well maintained and nicely laid out for everyone to enjoy. Just remember to clean up after your pup as it’s easy to spread disease through waste.
