Wicker Park Dog Friendly Area

This is such a fun, happy place. My lab loves it here and I love the positive vibe. People are friendly. It is so uplifting seeing the pure joy of dogs as they mingle with other dogs and people. ❤️

Fun park for dogs. However the floor is VERY HARD for the paws. We can only run our dog for 30 minutes max to avoid paw bleeding...

The dog park has a high fence, double gate, water, and benches. The park could use a deep clean and the entrance can get a bit tight so only one in/out at a time. Because the park is a mix of concrete and gravel, my pup was done playing after 20 minutes. The grounds around the park are beautiful and my pup loved posing in front of the fountain nearby. Overall 4/5.

It's a nice friendly place. Been going there my whole life. However, the maintenance of the defecation area never seems to be properly maintained. I also feel that concrete on dogs paws isn't necessarily the most ideal form of foundation. Not good for dog paws.

Small, no grass, and the gravel sections are quite smelly. It's good in a pinch, but if you're coming from the westside to get to it, I'd suggest heading to the Logan Square park, instead.

Fun off leash park. The water is almost always running in the pool so it’s great for a hot and sunny day. The ground can get a little rough for dog paws so just be careful and check for abrasions.

Great dog park, everyone is so friendly, definitely kid friendly, lots of dogs, all very friendly / if they are too excited their owners were very good at communicating. Cute little area for dogs, it is a decent size to keep an eye on your dog, loses a star for no grassy area, concrete and a gravel area. People and pups were friendly!

Kind of depressing. No green space. All rocks and pavement. A couple of water options. The space is fairly large. The dogs and owners at this park are super. For the price of homes in this area this park should be much nicer. Not a park I'll bring my dog to again. #sadpark

Mostly concrete with elevated pebble areas. During warmer weather the park has running water in two spots. One is a fountain type faucet for dogs to drink from and the other is a small kiddie pool with a connected hose for dogs to splash around in. The depressed spaces around the kiddie pool and fountain easily fill up with standing muddy water, so dogs can get pretty messy in those spots. Overall, the area is kept very clean and is obviously well maintained.

Most importantly, I'm thankful that we have this dog park in the neighborhood. The people and pups here are generally chill. My biggest and really only complaint is that it is all gravel and concrete. It would be soo nice to have some turf or grass (or even dirt 😆) that would be easier on my pup's feet and allow her to more confidently exercise and have fun. When she comes here, she is OK... but when we go to a dog park that has grass or turf she is a completely different dog! She loves softer surfaces, and I wish we had access to that here.

I take my dog here quite a bit. All the essentials, and in the summer there's a dog fountain. Great place, and the DFA tags are very affordable at your local veterinarian.

We enjoy walking and relaxing in this park. Dog park is pretty decent, fencing is lined with deer netting since gaps would be too wide otherwise and the netting is torn but functional. The wading pool has constant flow of fresh water and is a fun refreshing spot for the pups. Very dog friendly zone of the city with beautiful homes and the park serves as a communal back yard.

Always a fun time with the dogs here. One large and one small sand pit, lots of toys, easy waste clean up, and plenty of sitting, standing space for owners. Everyone we've met here has been so kind and curious about each other's pups. Owners are responsible and alert and always at the ready to separate if the dogs get too rowdy.

Not a bad little dog park! Nothing special really, but has water and a double gate and extra wiring around the fence to keep small dogs from slipping through. Plus a few benches to sit on. Does the job :)

Perfect amount of space for dogs to run and play! There is maintenance done on the park at least once a week so it never gets dirty at all. Located right on the edge of the grass field in Wicker so it’s a great avenue to walk with your pup after playtime.

Me and my Lovely Girlfriends favorite spot to bring our dog Zepplin. We also have family come and visit and bring their dogs as well. It's a kid friendly, family friendly park that is just amazing. Our dog as well as our eight yr old Daughter Dhalia Just love it. So beautiful and serene. We go everyday in the summer just about. We don't think, we know, you'll love it. Come out and experience the different breeds of dogs.
