Good place to meditate, have picnic , and nice dog park, enough picnic tables to enjoy the view and sunset , the only thing I was not satisfied they don't have enough or no restrooms at all around the place or maybe I didn't walk around to check.

This is just one small part of a large and wonderful park. There are stone steps leading from a large street-level fountain up to another smaller fountain. From there, more steps lead up alongside pools and waterfalls to the Woodminster Amphitheater. The whole thing was constructed in the WPA and although it's falling apart in places, it has a lot of charm. The water usually isn't flowing in the fountains or waterfalls these days but people still come here to walk, sit on the nearby grass, use it as a backdrop for photo shoots, or run up and down the hundreds of steps for a good workout.

One of the most beautiful Urban parks in California. Views of Oakland, San Francisco and the Bay Area are heavenly. Walk the stone staircases or numerous trails to discover unique artifacts of the poet Joaquin Miller. With the fountains flowing around sunset, you might feel you're in a Maxfield Parrish painting. I love this place and so does my dog!

Wonderful spot for a morning work out. Nothing like climbing the stairs (all 241 of them). Great views.

The view of Oakland and San Francisco is amazing

Has a dog park, hiking trails for hiking and biking, stairs to run on, a theatre, basketball court, and a Vista point of a scenic view of the bay area. Definitely a park to check out in Oakland. And please pick up after yourself after taking a photo shoot or having a picnic. It annoys me that there are fake flower petals/confetti on the ground because you don't want to clean up after yourself. And dog poop too.

I really wish park maintenance would clear the leaves off all the steps and stone staircases, but otherwise a really challenging workout spot... and rewarding views

Beautiful area has been a little neglected but over all worth the trip. Great place to take pictures.

Needs some regular garbage and clean of debris maintenence lots of tree debris under the trees. And clean the ponds.

Great trails hidden all over. nice circle loops for mtb riders

Great steps to walk up and down. Kids park is great for little ones. Bathrooms were far away ....not great for potty training toddlers .

Great place for hiking, mountain biking and walking your dog!!! Playground Yes. Restrooms Yes. Dog-friendliness The trails are perfect for dogs on leash and we'll behaved and owner trained off leash!!! Picnic area Yes.
